Watching Pens/Rags to get my Forslund fix, and they called an unsportsmanlike for snowing the goalie? I've been watching hockey since like 1995 or so and I don't think I've ever seen that.

He's doing it for USA. I think we have Chris Cuthbert doing Bolts/Wings on NBCSN, which is also pretty good.

Gotcha. Cuthbert is good, Det/TB is one where Rogers actually sent their own team, so we get Bob Cole. Love the guys voice but he went senile a few years ago.

I thought it was odd that they would use the MSG broadcast in Canada as it seems more "regional" to NY than "national." Now knowing that Forslund was the other option I'm mad to be missing out.

I didn't see this specific incident, but it does happen from time to time. I've seen it probably 3 or 4 times in the NHL during about the same timeframe.

It's big, but not #yuge, winning the series will be huge for them. I want to see a deep run by them and they deserve it.

No kidding, he's regressed harder than Eric over the past couple years.

So both Eric and Marc regressed in their very late 20s/early 30s. Jordan will be 28 to start next season, so will be interesting to watch him these next few years. He's signed for 7 more years so if he starts regressing at all, the Canes are in trouble.

I think in Marc's case, he was never a great skater and was more of a "stay at home / Shut down" defenseman. The NHL is changing and getting much faster and I think that hurts him. Also, he's never been back 100% from that eye injury.

Eric, imo, is a case of he's lost a step at a time when the NHL game has gotten faster. He's never had elite skill, but has used his speed and strength to be effective. You see very few Colin White, Bryan Allen, Hal Gil type defensemen any longer in the NHL. Almost every defenseman can really skate and Eric can no longer blow by these guys. I still think Eric can be an effective player if he wants to, but it's going to be in a different role. Not a high scoring 1C, but a guy that plays down low, cycling, net front presence, using his body to maintain puck possession etc.. A guy in that role takes a beating though, so mentally he has to want it.

Jordan's game is different and "I think" less susceptible to regression. He already plays the type of game I was advocating for Eric above.
