The season begins and I'm working from home with the fireplace on and watching the snow fall. TV is above the fireplace and windows on either side...makes for a fascinating visual.

Bizarre.

Same here, except I had the real fire going yesterday

As long as it's not snowing in Cleveland, it's all good.

30 Degrees with a 20 mph wind.

Sounds like torture to play in!

I have a gas fireplace, so it being "on" is as real as it gets

It was snowing there this morning when the news was reporting live from the stadium...but last live shot I saw it just looked cold and gray.

Not ideal baseball weather for sure.

Not at all.

I've never understood why they couldn't arrange the schedule so that cold weather teams started out on the road for the first weeks of the of the season in warmer climates or stadiums with domes. I get that it doesn't create a super balanced schedule and could either be seen as an advantage/disadvantage depending on your viewpoint, but that weather sucks for everyone. Sucks to play in, and sucks to sit through as a fan.

Hell baby

Eh, they might do a doubleheader on Wednesday if tomorrow's really bad.

The AL only has about 7 teams that I'd say are "warm weather" teams - Tampa, Houston, Texas, LA, Oakland, and maybe Kansas City and Baltimore. You can't make every team happy, and most teams probably don't want to go more than 3 away series as an opener. That would leave April 15 as the latest you'd want to open, and it can still be pretty cold then.

Wait months for this day and the first game is postponed. Brutal. All that excitement for the Red Sox season and Price's debut will have to wait until tomorrow.

Game was postponed for being too cold, not precipitation. It's been said a lot but it's true...dumb to have opening day in Cleveland.

What's dumber is having two dome teams face each other on opening day when outdoor cold weather teams face each other. Or having a warm weather dome team like Houston on the road in NY. Just moronic.
