Went with Geertsen but for me it is extremely close with Boikov and Lindholm (been playing against men for a couple of years now and doing very well) with Seimens just a notch lower.

Add Bourke and Baron.

Going with big Josh Anderson out of Duncan, British Columbia here.

Been doing a lot of reading on him as videos/clips on a stay-at-home D are hard to find. 6'2", already over 220 pounds at just 17 years of age. Every scouting report talks about him being mean, mean, mean. "Nasty streak." "Tough customer." "Throws his weight around." "Makes his team tough to play against."

He doesn't seem to have much of an offensive side at all, but that's just fine, in my opinion. I find too many of these prospects are told they need to be well-rounded, two-way guys and they struggle to excel in any specific department. This boy seems to know where his bread is buttered, and sticks to it.

I feel like most of the other options are long-shots, other than maybe Grimaldi, but I'm not a fan of plain midgets so he gets a pass from me.

Liking this pick.

Edit: I've also watched like 10 of his fights so far and he straight up knocks people the **** out.

A case for Anderson, I like it. I know folks don't like stay at home D anymore but where he's going to get voted in he's underrated.

It's all basically a toss up to me. Probably Geertsen and Boikov next. Throw in Siemens. Then Anderson and Clurman I suppose. I'm not the biggest fan of Lindholm and I don't think tiny Butcher gets much a shot here.

I don't have a problem with stay-at-home D per say. I believe every team needs one. My only issue is can he move the puck as well? I'm not asking for points. I'm just asking for a good and consistent first outlet pass. If that dman cannot do that then what do you have?...Another Guenin? Holden?

Anderson needs to be given some leeway for a year. The injury he had will limit his skating progression over the summer, and that is the bigger issue to me than his offense. I don't think he is a good puck mover, nor does he have much offensive upside, but he doesn't need to be an All-Star there to make the NHL. The puck skills have to develop though. If he only develops to a Siemens level, he won't be a NHL player no matter how good he is defensively. If he can get past that, he may have a shot. People need to remember with him that he is still young and logged minutes on the top pairing last year before his injury. That isn't real easy for a barely 17 year old in the WHL.

Anderson probably has a 20-30 point year for PG if he is injury free. He will be on the top pairing and there is a small chance he gets some 2nd unit PP time (PG doesn't have a whole lot of good options there).

I like Boikov over Geertsen simply because of play style. I like Boikov's calm, cerebral game over Geertsen's gritty tough-guy play. I think it's both more appealing to me and more likely to translate to the NHL, even if Geertsen is further along in his development.

Seriously, have all the players so far been rising? That is pretty nuts to see, seeing that we're on our 12th player.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm a tad bit excited to see what Grimaldi can do in training camp and the preseason. Roy is no fan of midgets but if this kid works tirelessly and finds an offensive touch, he may have an outside shot of making the big club.

I think I'm more excited to see what Elson can do tbh. If he's decent he could be an option for our 4th line. I know Grimaldi is skilled but I think he's more the AHL all-star sort, which is fantastic for the Rampage.
