Prospect Info: 2016 Annual Prospect Poll #9

Pettersson wins. When in doubt, vote for a Swedish defenseman. Who's next?

This year's results:
Rank | Prospect | yearly change | overall change 1 | Theodore | +1 | +10 (since 2013)
2 | Ritchie | +1 | +2 (since 2014)
3 | Montour | +1 | +9 (since 2014)
4 | Larsson | +4 | +4 (since 2015)
5 | Jones |n/a|n/a
6 | Nattinen | +4 | +4 (since 2015)
7 | Steel |n/a|n/a
8 | Pettersson | +3 | +3 (since 2014)

Each poll will be open for 48 hours. If it's not close after 24 hours, I'll call it. If it is, it'll go the full 48. In the event of a tie after 48 hours, a 24-hour runoff will be held. The winner will get the open spot; the loser will go back into the pool, not get the next-lowest rank. The poll will go up to #25. Players are in the poll on the basis of HF's prospect criteria. Essentially, skaters with less than 65 games before the season of their 24th birthday, or goalies with less than 45 games before the season of their 24th birthday, are considered prospects. There are some nuances with respect to older-signed players, which I believe only applies to Garret Metcalf this year.

Vote on players using whatever criteria you like. This isn't the readiness poll or the talent poll or the most-likely-to-be-best poll, it's just a survey of who we as Duck fans like.

Still Terry

But i get why people vote for Sorensen. Could be a big year from him but who knows

Been voting Kase like the past 3 polls. Dudes good.

He`s my next pick after Terry (to whom i give some credit in advance, i admit). I like Kase ever since we picked him. I hope and i think there is a reasonable expectation of him having a good next season as he should be adopted better to the NA game and filled out to prevent some of those injuries better.

I've seen a few of these guys play on the list but have never seen Terry. Can somebody tell me a bit about him? Strengths, weaknesses. What his ceiling is?

Two of the guys I have seen are Sorensen and Pettersson. Sorensen has pretty high upside where as Pettersson while solid and safer I think has a much lower ceiling. Which is why I'm surprised the latter went ahead of the former.

I saw Terry in a couple of those last games of the season (Frozen four?). Despite being the young one he played comparingly mature game. I think he had an ok speed and instincts. To me it looked like he just needs to fully grow into his body to use his strenghts which is ok for a 18 year old boy who grew in his first year in the NCAA. I did not had a big idea of how good he looks defensively but he was not bad at that aspect and he made his plays offensively, being dangerous. I`d like to catch some more games with him but unfortunately it is very hard to do in the NCAA especially if you live in Europe.

Sadly i can`t find data but i think his production picked up towards the end of the season.

This is probably where Kerdilles belongs, but Welienski is still on the board so I'll be re-picking him.
Suprised Pettersson went ahead of some of the guys left on the board. He hasn't done anything to increase his standing in a deeper prospect pool.

Trade both Kane and Ennis for Fowler.

Because of the budget impact, offer sheet Lindholm.

Then once Anaheim needs defense, trade Fowler back to Anaheim for Theodore.

Thanks for reminding me we gave up assets to re-acquire Beauchemin.

What a bunch of ****, that was.

ha ha ha yeah, it does sound bad... maybe that's why Bob is still wanting old, old defenseman around for lots of money. ha!

on a tangent about dealing with Toronto, we traded away Holland (and Staubitz) for two picks which turned out to be D Pettersson and F Kase.
