Theo wins, wasn't close. Who's next?

This year's results:
Rank | Prospect | yearly change | overall change 1 | Theodore | +1 | +10 (since 2013)

Each poll will be open for 48 hours. If it's not close after 24 hours, I'll call it. If it is, it'll go the full 48. In the event of a tie after 48 hours, a 24-hour runoff will be held. The winner will get the open spot; the loser will go back into the pool, not get the next-lowest rank. The poll will go up to #25. Players are in the poll on the basis of HF's prospect criteria. Essentially, skaters with less than 65 games before the season of their 24th birthday, or goalies with less than 45 games before the season of their 24th birthday, are considered prospects. There are some nuances with respect to older-signed players, which I believe only applies to Garret Metcalf this year.

Vote on players using whatever criteria you like. This isn't the readiness poll or the talent poll or the most-likely-to-be-best poll, it's just a survey of who we as Duck fans like.

Still think Ritchie has the highest ceiling, but either of the two dmen could prove me wrong pretty easily.

I like Ritchie a lot, but it was disheartening seeing him so ineffective at this level. Not that I'm holding it against him in the long run, since guys like him take potentially take a few years. But it was enough for Larsson to move past him IMO.

Even with you having seen none of Larsson?

Even with his unimpressive stint at the NHL level, I still feel Ritchie's upside/ceiling is best we have left in this prospect pool

Larsson IMO. Ritchie is safer but I like Larsson's upside a bit better.

Voted Larsson as i think he has a pretty high floor and from my observations, his most obvious skills (Hockey IQ, timing, beautiful breakout passes) should translate very well to... wanted to write ''Pro hockey'' then realised he`s already playing in top5 PRO league in the world.
I am really lookin forward to his next season. I think he was bigger at the end of the season then when he was drafted. His strenght was the biggest weakness i saw in him and i think he works on this in the summer. His energy dried up as the season went along too, i think.
He should finally see some significant special teams time as the Frolunda defense got reorganised. He`s already at least top3 in their defense ranks, imo (as far as i briefly checked) and he should get only better.

I`m really excited about his upcoming season.

Seeing Ritchie so inept at the NHL level gave me shades of Peter Holland. Great everywhere, but at the NHL ice. Ritchie is still young, but when you see Theo step onto NHL ice and see he was comfortable on NHL ice - it gives you pause about Ritchie.

The difference to me is that Ritchie didn't look lost. He looked a step behind. Some due to physical condition, but mostly because it seemed like he wasn't use to the speed of the game. I worry more about when players look "lost". I didn't see that with Ritchie.

Aside from good checks, he was pretty much invisible. I never said lost - i said inept. And i was pulling for him to do well too!

This one's not close either.

By the way, I'm don't have any "pause" about Ritchie. It's just that I like Larsson better now.

Larsson had a great year overall, but he was pretty awful in the couple games I saw of him in the AHL playoffs against the reign. Not that it means a whole lot.

Most prospects don't do what Theodore did. Especially defensemen. Kids going to be really good.

It's not like Theodore didn't look like a rookie against Nashville. He was a mess.

He played only one game in the AHL.

He did slow down during the season but well, he is a SHL champion, Champions Leage champion (he played much larger role here), he did play in WJC`s and also that one game in the AHL.
Not bad, he turned 19 only when the season was about to end.
