Hooray, it's the annual poll. Voting starts now, for #1. I'm sure I've forgotten or missed some of the lesser prospects (or even some of the major ones). Please, especially in this first poll, before you vote, check to make sure the guy you would have voted for is actually in the poll.

Each poll will be open for 48 hours. If it's not close after 24 hours, I'll call it. If it is, it'll go the full 48. In the event of a tie after 48 hours, a 24-hour runoff will be held. The winner will get the open spot; the loser will go back into the pool, not get the next-lowest rank. The poll will go up to #25. Players are in the poll on the basis of HF's prospect criteria. Essentially, skaters with less than 65 games before the season of their 24th birthday, or goalies with less than 45 games before the season of their 24th birthday, are considered prospects. There are some nuances with respect to older-signed players, which I believe only applies to Garret Metcalf this year.

Vote on players using whatever criteria you like. This isn't the readiness poll or the talent poll or the most-likely-to-be-best poll, it's just a survey of who we as Duck fans like.

Thanks for starting the poll Bodacious!

Theodore it is. His potential is quite high and he has already shown readiness in the NHL.

Thanks for doing the poll, BW! And I love seeing the past rankings as well. Geez, look at Manson just skyrocketing!!! +13 one offseason and +7 the following.

Theo. Kid has a lot of weapons at his disposal and more importantly, knows how to use them.

If he develops as expected, the Theodore/Vatanen PP pairing is going to be a thing of beauty.

Theo

Larsson
Montour

(i`m kind of split on Larsson/Montour but i give Larsson an edge because the dude was being a pro league stud already at 18. But if Montour pans out, he will be better, but since there is no 100% certainty Motnour will pan out, currently giving it to Larsson)

But yeah right now it`s Theo

That's how I rank them too. Maybe have Ritchie in there above Montour because Ritchie has a much higher floor but I really like our three young defenders, we are churning out so many good young defensemen since Madden was hired.

I`m just not sold on Ritchie, he will be outside of my top3 for now

There's also the would be traitor Welinski.

From all I've read up and gathered about Montour is he's offensively gifted, but is lacking defensively. I doubt he's mastered his defense in one year whereas Theo has had years of development. Montour is where Theo is when we first draft Theo.

I've read reports where someone covering the Gulls was enamored with Montour and so down on Theo, but when Theo came up to the NHL ice he was on the same page with the rest of the team. A lot of people are enamored with Montour's offense, but forget he's a defenseman first. It took how long for Vatanen to come into his own? A while.

I'd be interested to see where Andy is after four years of college.

The last time I saw Welinski play a college game he was very impressive.

Anyway, this one's over.
