This is ridiculous. Yeah, Ted saddled McPhee with Oates, but the Forsberg trade is all on McPhee regardless.
Ownership maybe could have stopped it, though.

Trotz will probably just argue his war of attrition fell short in their series but now Ottawa has firmly taken advantage of it. So say thank you, Senators. :)

Ownership is ****ing clueless, which is the root of the problem.

But point taken.

And Trotz wouldn't be entirely wrong. The Caps tenderized the **** out of the Pens in games 5 and 6. That they couldn't make hay with that in game 7 is the disgrace.

As someone else on reddit said if they're tearing the pens like that what makes you think they wouldn't have done that to the caps? Quit being bitter and just enjoy the domination. The caps wore the pens down. They were injured going in and even more depleted now. Cheer hard for the Sens.

Forsberg would probably catch capitalitis if he were on this team

I find solace in the likelihood we'd have converted him to center on day 1, burning a year or 2 on that failed experiment. Battling it out with Bura Kuz and MJ for that coveted 4C slot. Regardless, given him 4th line 8TOI and no power play time, and expect him to wow the coaches while pulling 35% FO's. Which would have led to the inevitable scratches, trips to Hershey to pout, and risk losing him back to the motherland.

No doubt we'd have stunted his development further by insisting he learn the NHL mandated grind em tire em 2 to 1 em ways for a few years. Sure the Swedes are pretty good out of the box defensively but Trotz wouldn't want to risk it. The kids a liability out there.

Rinne seems fine w/out Korn.

Forsberg is about to carry his team to the Cup finals with the club that fired Trotz.

Scoresberg.

We need our GM to try to take more candy from GMGM to get our sanity back. Orpik is our Erat. Now I understand why everyone keeps thinking we can get George to take him off our hands.

Agree on Rinne not needing Korn. We have Korn and look at where we are. I am not sold he is best for Holtby going forward. Great coach and person but change isn't always bad.

So, with Johansen out of the playoffs, if Preds wins the Cup, Forsberg wins Conn Smythe? or they still give it to a Dman?

Couldn't have asked for an easier road to winning the cup. Our team is so pathetic for losing to that banged up Pens team.

So Forsberg looks like a playoff-hardened leader who cooly does what his team needs him to do. We don't really have a guy that looks like that

Congratulations to the Preds though, stellar play by Rinne with timely scoring, tough to beat.
