I know it doesn't matter too much but I suspect one of Ryan Wilson or Aaron Johnson will wear #44 and Douglas Murray #3.

100TG, small thing but isn't Joni's contract a 1-way as of this season?

This is awesome! Roy and Bruce are probably the ones first to be sent home. I wonder if Roy will continue to play hockey and if so, where?

Anyone know if any of the camp will be open to the public to watch?

I believe it usually is. I will post the schedule and attendance information as I find it and will add it to the OP. I also encourage others to do the same if they find any info and I will also add it to the OP

So that 10:00am Saturday game is open for public? Is it free? Thinking of going to watch that

I did not see anything about cost, so I'm not sure on that IIRC they have asked for food bank donations for admittance in the past.

Joe Colborne is going to be full-on from the beginning of training camp, but will be starting out with a brace on his wrist.

Ladi Smid is awaiting medical clearance, and hopes to be able to join in with contact in mid-October. Says his neck is feeling a lot better, though.

Will be interesting to see who wins the #7 D spot in his stead as game 1 is October 7th:

Ryan Wilson
Jakub Nakladal
Tyler Wotherspoon
Kenney Morrison

Are the four leading candidates. Plus as dark horses, there's always the chance of Brett Kulak and Rasmus Andersson.

Highly doubt any of Kylington, Andersson, Kulak, Morrison, etc. win the number 7D spot. If any of them are good enough, more likely they win the 6th spot and push Engelland out, although that's not likely either. The organization wants them all to play and over-ripen, not sit in the press box on a nightly basis and watch.

I'd say Wotherspoon is the most likely choice given Nakladal may need some time to adjust to North American ice and as Wilson has barely played hockey in the last year. Johnson at best earns an AHL deal and Murray gets cut as soon as the Flames don't need his veteran status anymore.

If Wotherspoon isn't ready, and no one else from camp is suitable, a waiver claim might not be out of the question.

A couple of articles suggesting Hiller is the odd man out.

Flames goalie Joni Ortio likely to stay around when club resolves crowded crease issue
Plenty can happen between now and opening night Oct. 7, but assuming Ortio has a good training camp starting today, logic dictates Hiller will be the odd man out.

The Flames would likely love to trade Hiller to a team suffering a training camp injury and in need of a proven starter. However, the return would be minimal and it’s more likely he’ll be waiver-bound, setting up a scenario where Hiller would either be plucked by another team or off for a stint with the Flames’ AHL club.

The team certainly doesn’t want to carry three goalies on the roster much past opening night, and the one they’d least like to lose is the youngest, cheapest and most promising one — Ortio.
Is Jonas Hiller the odd man out in the Calgary Flames goaltender situation?
With Karri Ramo re-signed on Canada Day and up-and-comer Joni Ortio now on a one-way pact, many folks have Hiller pegged as the odd-man-out in Calgary’s crowded crease.
