That is one hell of a grin. Would make a great trollface.

As for Granlund and Koivu, meh. They've been usually the first guys to jump at the opportunity to play for Finland. With that said, Koivu IS legitimately playing with screws in his ankles and probably needs the rest. Granlund, well, not sure if he's injured or not but he definitely wasn't himself in game 5, and it has been an extremely long season with Olympics, regular season and playoffs. Add that to the training from hell he did last summer and the guy is probably wrecked right now. Can't blame them, really.

Saw that elsewhere. Good to see Spurg getting some recognition from the opposition. Apparently, Kane is not a TOTAL bag of dicks after all.

Don't say things like that, I want to keep on hating him.

Hope Coyle's shoulders aren't seriously hurt. He's too young to have anything recurring.

I've had numerous separated shoulders. Got them from doing way too many falls in Martial Arts training. If indeed Coyle has one (or two, that's kind of weird) then he needs to rest them. Repeated use of the shoulder can make make them a chronic thing. I've heard he's a workout warrior... He can still work on his core and legs, but has to make sure he doesn't stress his shoulders. Depending on the severity, you can function quite well with shoulder separations until you have to lift your elbow up to shoulder height. At that point you feel like you have no strength, and feel pain. I can't imagine it would be fun taking a slapshot , for instance. Also would be no fun going into the corners, or trying to use your arms in any way to protect yourself or check someone.

Now that I think about it, playing hockey would suck with separated shoulders.

Good news is that if he babies himself and doesn't reinjure himself during training then he should heal up OK.

Interesting read on Pittsburgh

Posted here because of this nugget:

That is what I'm talking about, a player who creates his own chances and his own shots. Not just setting the table or tapping it home, but guys who can score by themselves. Because that opens up space for other players to get into scoring areas, forces players to respect the shot, etc.

Nino and Haula showed they can do that. Coyle and Granlund did from time to time as well. Koivu is your basic setup guy who never shoots and Pommer is a guy who shoots but can't make his shots.

Zucker is also a guy who creates offense. I keep coming back to him.

He has a great shot and has that shoot-first mentality. I think that is definitely an ingredient that this group could use. And, as mentioned, he has speed.

The start of that video, I wonder what Oduya said to Parise. Looked like Zach game him a "wtf?" look after.

Oduya: "You look so good in green"
Parise: WTF

On a unrelated note:
What's the likelihood of the Wild holding on to Bryz for at least another season?

Modest. It depends on what happens with Harding and Backstrom. If one of them comes to camp in shape it becomes much less likely we keep Bryz.

I hope we find a way to keep him. He's solid in net, and more importantly he's HEALTHY. And he's just so damn entertaining. And he deserves to be around for next years run.

kfan had nanne & just now russo. good stuff. brutally honest. very interesting. nanne didnt think the wild should overpay vanek with all the young guys improving. russo said the wild should at least explore the possibility of trading koivu & that koivu may be on the 3rd line next year. maybe mgmt & russo do read our msg boards!

Russo seems really iffy on if Vanek is the right move. Hes what the Wild need but the term could be a killer.

I was listening too, wish there would have been more talk about Haula.

Can you guys imagine Zucker and Haula going 2 on 1 on some poor sucker?

I'll be honest, I have a hard time imagining Zucker earning a full time roster spot at this point. Even Russo was saying on KFAN that he may be traded.

i thought if the wild were trading zucker it would have been at the deadline. now they can re-sign him cheap due to injury so i think hes staying. unless the wild keep moulson & sign vanek then no room.

Sign Oates as a PP specialist coach!

Wasn't possible at the deadline, can't trade an injured player (remember the DR/Gaborik fiasco?). He'll be healthy by the draft, so he could be traded then.

Would be a mistake to trade Zucker at his lowest value. Nothing wrong holding on to him and letting him build his game back up in the minors next year. Still see value with him.

It's seems illogical for a team that has trouble scoring still to NOT want someone like Vanek this offseason. Just doesn't make sense, yet we don't need another stranglehold contract either. Honestly, not sure what to think anymore.

On D I used to think we need one more bonified top 4 guy, but everyone on D was really solid this postseason with Dumba and Folin now in the fold.

Goaltending, it should be Kuemper and someone else. Got to, some how, some way get rid of Backstrom and (so sorry..but) Harding.

I don't know why some of you want to trade Backstrom so bad. Once he is healthy, he will play well again and was a great mentor to Kuemps before he was shutdown. He played injured for us this year and his stats reflect that.
