If you bring Kristo up, find he isn't NHL ready and send him down, it runs the risk of crippling the rest of his AHL season.

It wouldn't be the first time that had happened.

He has been dominant at the AHL level. Sometimes showing a youngster he is on the cusp also makes them work that much harder because they know where they have to get to (Callahan). Works both ways

Kristo is just not ready. He's going to make way too many mistakes. Miller makes mistakes and ends up with limited minutes or scratched outright, and he's considerably ahead of where Kristo is in terms of defensive play and play away from the puck.

Kristo is coming along just fine in the AHL. No need to rush him along.

EDIT: And while Kristo is posting excellent numbers at the AHL level, his play hasn't been dominating. Kreider's play was far more dominant during his last spell than Kristo's is now. Kristo isn't locked-in to the point that he's explosive every shift. And that's fine, he's young and developing.

The difference is that Kristo can create more offense with his hockey IQ than Miller can. But I see your point.

Johnson currently has 15 points through 12 games while Syvret has eight assists during that same time frame. Johnson’s production has rubbed off on his partner, McIlrath, who has three goals and two assists in the 12 games this season.

“He’s maturing and his game is developing,†Beukeboom said of McIlrath. “He’s more confident with his health and ability. He’s got a good partner in Johnson. It’s a good fit. He’s developing the way he should and he’s probably a little bit ahead of the trend right now.â€

While he may not play with either veteran defender, Beukeboom praised Allen, who also has five points through 12 games and has been getting quality minutes in all situations, including special teams.

“He’s gaining experience, which is very important,†Beukeboom said of the young defenseman. “You can’t say enough about how good of a skater he is and how much speed helps someone. He’s got a great attitude and his work ethic is very good.â€

Nice to see that Hartford has good defense, unlike last year. Especially with it looking like Talbot is staying up.

6-5 now, O'Donnell from Hughes and Powe, made it 6-4. 14 seconds later Bourque made it 6-5.

Didn't watch the game tonight, were the goalies poor? Wonder if they're going to need any help in net with Talbot gone. I know they want youth to play, but you also want your team to contend so the forwards/D develop.

Just watched the replay... Missiaen is about 1-2 years away from becoming a ECHL regular and 3-4 years away from playing semi-pro hockey before hanging them up... He just cant cope with his big body frame and the speed... I like him, but he's average AHL backup at this stage.

Allaire likes to try to mold big goalies who can play deep in the net and still cover space.

Not sure Missiaen or Stajcer are the guys for the job. Rangers might need to find a replacement. It's an important job within the organization because a winning atmosphere helps the other players develop. Mediocre or bad goaltending can **** everything up.
