Would 2 tickets to each home game not be the same as 2 season tickets? So in effect the person gets 6 season tickets?

Since this thread is not just about the SFU Clown, but the BCIHL in general, I see that Keyano from the ACAC beat Eastern Washington from the BCIHL 5-3 on Sept 12th. There are lots of ACAC v BCIHL games this pre-season.

September 27th & 28th, 2013

Game 1 (UBC Home): Friday, September 27th, 7:00pm at Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Center (tickets sold at the door)

Game 2 (SFU Home): Saturday, September 28th, 7:00pm at Bill Copeland Sports Centre (tickets sold at the door or at www.sfuhockey.com)

The Scoop: As far as Canadian University rivalries go, SFU vs UBC is one of the best. From academics to football, soccer, and now hockey, these schools and their students hate to lose to one another. The University Hockey Classic began in 2011 with the underdog SFU taking the inaugural title. UBC evened the score when they were crowned 2012 champion, and now SFU returns with a bolstered lineup looking to take back their lead and earn bragging rights for the next 12 months.

The Format: The University Hockey Classic is a two-game series, decided by overtime and shootout if needed.

Group Tickets: Discounted tickets are available for groups of 10 or more (Game 2 only). Please visit www.sfuhockey.com or email [email protected] for more information.

SFU Hockey Players Graham Smerek, Colton Shock, Taylor Piller, Mike Sandor, and Trent Murdoch visited Parkcrest elementary on September 24th 2013 in Burnaby, BC. Parkcrest is one of the many schools we have partnered with this year in the Burnaby School District in hopes of providing kids with the opportunity to interact with our players through hockey. The players had the opportunity to play hockey and read to the kids during the visit.

Any chance SFU ever makes the jump to CIS?

The Clown jumped out of the CIS just a few years ago so the odds of them jumping back are pretty slim. They used to be in the NAIA many years ago before the teams in their old conference drifted away. After many years of being a CIS doormat they went back to NCAA division 2.

In hockey, there is no NCAA division 2 league. In a real oddity, there are many division 1 and division 3 leagues. They could, in theory, join a division 1 league. However, they are too remote for that.

I would think that their hockey players would like to enter the CIS, even though they cannot. So for the forseseeable future it will be the BCIHL for the Clown.

SFU will face off against rival Thompson Rivers University to open the Regular Season at Bill Copeland Sports Centre on October 12th. The two teams last met in the semi-finals of last year's playoffs, with SFU defeating the Wolfpack in two games to advance to their sixth consecutive league finals.

The game will also feature performances by the SFU Junior Pipe Band, and fans are encouraged to attend and support one of the world's most renowned pipe bands.

The Wolfpack have made significant upgrades this offseason, adding BCHL veteran forwards Sean Maktaak, Silvan Harper and Tyler Berkholtz, as well as Selkirk transfer goaltender Stephen Wolff.

Really? Guys from a message board can try out for The Clown? Anybody want to give this a shot? I think I will stay this side of the computer!

Considering they recruit mostly Junior B players, I don't see what the harm is posting this on a message board.

What's your beef with SFU anyway?

SFU Men's Hockey players Jared Eng, Trevor Milner, Jesse Williamson, and Captain Tyler Mah visited Douglas Road Elementary School today. After a long week of practice in preparation of our big home opener on Oct 12th, 7pm vs Thompson Rivers University, a break off the ice was much needed and what better way to relieve stress than to play floor hockey with elementary students.

It was an exciting home opener Saturday night, both teams played very strong on the PP, especially in the third period. SFU took the home opener 7-4 over Thompson Rivers with SFU veteran Jono Ceci leading the way as the games first star. Next home game is Oct 26th Vs Selkirk College, last years BCIHL Champions. Hope to see you all there!

Burnaby, B.C. -- The Simon Fraser University Men’s Hockey team is pleased to announce that the 2014 Great Northwest Showcase will take place on January 3rd and 4th, 2014, and will feature the University of North Dakota (NCAA Division I), the Princeton University Tigers (NCAA Division I), Simon Fraser University Men’s Hockey (BCIHL), and the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds (CIS). This year’s event is sponsored by Tourism Burnaby as well as the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown Hotel.

The Great Northwest Showcase began in 2012 as a four game exhibition showcasing top level international University Men’s Hockey while promoting the importance of education during an athlete’s career. This year’s event will continue in the tradition of the GNS while building on the success of the inaugural event. The GNS not only provides a valuable competitive experience for the student-athletes involved, but also world-class entertainment and competition for sports fans of all ages who attend.

The four games of this year’s GNS are: SFU vs Princeton, UBC vs UND, UBC vs Princeton, and SFU vs UND. The games are scheduled to take place at the Bill Copeland Sports Centre in Burnaby, BC, home of the SFU Men’s Hockey team.

Yeah, I'm beginning to wonder if this is SFU's way of trying to get into the ACHA one day? Would be an easy fit in the PAC-8.

With SFU's physical plant leaking and crumbling into rubble I can't see the Clan's sports teams taking on more expense like travel to join the ACHA unless some deep pocketed alumni step up. The schools admin is more concerned about whether or not they will even have safe buildings for students.

SFU Men’s Ice hockey team has started the 2013/14 season with a bang with a 3-0 record, outscoring their opponents 22-4. After a disappointing loss in the BCIHL Finals against Selkirk College which saw both teams battle it out into overtime, SFU are set to face their rivals once again this Saturday October 26th at Bill Copeland Arena.

Selkirk has started this season with a record of 4-0, outscoring their opponents 25-5. Forward Connor McLaughlin of Selkirk College was also named the BCIHL’s Player of the week with 11 points through 4 games, while SFU rookie Aaron Enns had the same honor two weeks ago.

October 26th will also mark the first Halloween night at Bill Copeland arena. Children in costumes will receive free admission and trick-or-treating will be available during the intermissions. Prizes will be available for the person with the best Halloween costume.

Just throwing this out there...

With the sports targeting being performed by those men's-sports-hating ***** at UBC, I wonder if TRU has any interest in trying to move to CIS if the T-Birds are shut down? I just can't see a province with 5 WHL teams and the best Jr. A league in the country not having a CIS hockey team, somewhere in the province.
