These are the polling results I got from a board to board mock draft during the 2004 playoffs for lottery teams. Beakermania tried to keep it going for the playoff teams too, so I was able to find picks 15-17 also. I know it's still way too soon to label winners and losers. But any thoughts on which teams' HF fans are on track to have bragging rights over their own GM? Other teams that are dam* lucky HF posters aren't making their picks? I think there's a few candidates for the former. And one screaming out for the latter right around pick #9. Man, I forgot how far Wes O'Neill's stock plummeted compared to the hype he got on these boards.

2004 Board to Board Draft Voting

1) Was Ovechkin (write-in)

Notes:
-teams weren't allowed to trade picks
-there's always the troll factor, but I think a vast majority of votes came from fans who were in the know of their team's needs
-each team's board was given 48 hours to make their pick.
-the 1,2 & 4 picks were write-ins because voting would have been a formality based on board sentiment

As an Islanders fan i am curious, why was there so much love for Wes O'Neill(picked #9 in the mock draft)?

Islanders got him in the 4th round. It';s wierd because he was picked so low, he is considered a sort of middle of the road prospect now. He might actually be one of those that suprises us in a couple years.

Most definately. He's a pretty well rounded player, he just needs maturity and polish.

I like Schwarz a lot, but I wouldn't complain if he could be swapped straight up for Montoya...

both of them were rated top 10 before the draft, but i think Schwartz was rated slightly higher. I don't thinkt he rangers made a bad move picking Montoya, but Edmonton should have picked Schwartz instead of the goalie they picked.

It's fascinating to see the voting on Radulov. The classic highly regarded player that kept getting passed over for someone else. He was no.2 in the voting for 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, and 12th. LA wanted a goalie and Buffalo wanted a defensemen. And so ironic to see Nashville fans opting for Chipchura instead.
