How many second liners are scoring a point per game this year? He's 35th in the league in scoring, which means that roughly one player per team in the NHL has more points than he does. Not even to mention his defensive prowess.

I'm not saying he's a superstar, but he's certainly proven this year that's he is a top flight first line player.

I need to see more out of DiPietro than potential to give him the nod over a forward that is scoring at a clip like Justin Williams is scoring at this year.

Put DiPietro behind a defense that isn't a complete joke and you would see more out of him. Justin Williams is underrated by almost everyone...but calling him an elite two way player, as you have in this thread, is a bit much. And I don't think any NHL GM would trade DiPietro for him.

I would put Lundqvist top of that list. I have seen him play for some years now and he can really win games for his team. Finding good keepers isnt easy. Finding great ones is almost impossible. Here is his numbers from the reg. seasons. He have been even better when his team have reached the playoffs winning two SEL championships. I am very glad he left Frölunda since I am a Färjestad fan my self and now we atleast have a good chance of winning this year with him out of the way. :handclap:

2001-2002 Frölunda SEL 20 2.71 .899 Rookie year in SEL
2002-2003 Frölunda SEL 28 1.45 .948
2003-2004 Frölunda SEL 48 2.17 .927
2004-2005 Frölunda SEL 44 1.79 .936
2005-2006 NY Rangers NHL 46 2.11 .926 Rookie year in NHL
