[FIELDSET="QUOTES TO NOTE"]

Obviously we want guys to block shots, and Miller’s trying. It’s just from that distance, obviously I should stop it if nobody’s in front of me.
So it’s kind of that conversation we had. If he doesn’t have time to get there with his body, maybe just let that shot go for me.
But it’s easy to have the answer sitting here.
- Henrik Lundqvist

We addressed the bad ice at the start and talked, ‘Simplify, simplify, simplify,’. But you know, it’s tough.
There’s a balance there because we’re not the kind of team that just bangs it out and chops it in.
We come out of our end making plays to generate speed through the neutral zone. That’s our game. So it is a tough adjustment.
You want to simplify, but I think you can’t just completely change how you play
- Derek Stepan

Every team’s got injuries. We don’t expect to be any different than anybody else.
Like every coach says in these moments, it’s an opportunity for somebody else to get more ice time and we’ll see.
I’m confident that our guys, whoever we decide to put in that spot, will be able to do the job.
- Alain Vigneault

It would be nice with a bounce back win - I hope Miller will #center a line though.

Couple of thoughts:

1. Keep Miller with Hayes and Grabs. They have had too much good "joo joo". Please keep them together.
2. Let Pirri center the line with Vesey and Zucc. Let's see how this works out.
3. Let Raanta play tonight as he's been as good and arguably better than Hanky thus far. Let Hanky rest up for Wednesday game with Pens back at MSG

I've been looking forward to these back to backers since I looked at the schedule back in late October to see who we were going to be playing. These are what they call "barometer games" to me. These are where you get to see where you truly stack up vs competition. Don't get much better than vs the defending Cup champs.

I'd obviously luv a win tonight to put uber pressure on Pens to have to win Wednesday as I'm sure they don't want to get swept. I'd be lying tho if I said, I would be than happy coming out of these two games with a split.

Sweeping them would be awesome. Getting swept? Don't even want to jot down how I'd feel even tho it's still 11/21 on the calendar. Let's do this!!

Excited for the game! Is there a chance Puempel gets a look? Can he play today?

AV's usual rule is at least one full practice before joining lineup

not like this kid is Brassard arriving from Columbus ...

From the times I saw puempel on the nhl package or even when the sens had that amazing run he looked very good. Lots of energy decent hands . Just sucks that this probably means Hrivik won't get a chance.
I guess the gm and coach know more than we do.

Yup...a bigtime "pheww" from here. Not horrible news at all. Was worried there about Buch. 2-3 weeks is another 7-10 games. If he can come back strong thereafter, all will be good. We can manage....

Pencil me as not happy to hear. This kid is going to miss another 10 games when we're already short because his core is made of mayonnaise?

Far from acceptable not even sure I've heard this before. He needs a 3 week conditioning stint basically?
