Only Clarkson had 5 goals in the last 34 games of the season, and 8 points altogether. In fact Poni had 8 points in the last 34 games of the season too, and we all know how invisible he was.Everybody's favorite punching bag Stephen Gionta also had 8 points in the last 34 games.

And as long as Deboer is there Clarkson will likely be in the top 6, and likely playing in the top 6 over guys who should be in there more. Lou likely knows he's a 3rd line player though, and that's why he probably won't be brought back unless he chooses to accept far less money than what he thinks he's probably worth.

Just watched game 1 Wash-NYR series and I don't know how TG could be saying Kovalchuk and Ovechkin play the same role on the PP. Only Green truly plays the point for Wash, remaining right in the middle, with OV and NB on each of his side. Ovechkin has way more luxury to be prowling in the left circle, He played closer to the net in the 1st game than Kovalchuk ever could under Oates.

Parise has great hands around the net. Not a hard shot, but a good goal scorers touch. Part of the reason he was so good on the shootout.
