Too bad Ellis isn't in camp. He isn't in the position to miss camp. New coach. New system. Only one year of success in a protected role.

Just a few bits & pieces..

@RStanley247: Forsberg-Jarnkrok-Stalberg on a line together. #SwedesAllAround #PredsCamp

@RStanley247: Gabriel Bourque skating with Mike Ribeiro and James Neal in group three. #PredsCamp

@RStanley247: Peter Laviolette is very adamant about having a forward in the high slot "ready to score a goal."

Just a minor point of correction... the hyphen is between Jonathan and Ismael, so the last name is just "Diaby"

Laviolette & a few players were "very adamant" that the line combos didn't mean anything.

They obviously meant something, but they aren't necessarily what we will see in games, or even the next day of camp. Right now he is putting players together to see what kinds of skill sets they are able to complement and vice versa. Even if a line looks really good one day, the coaching staff could see Player A from one line and Player D from another one as two guys who could play together great.

So they are severely downplaying it when they say the line combos didn't mean anything, but we definitely shouldn't read too much into them this early on.

@OnTheForecheck: Clune had some words with Diaby after the latter slammed Pendenza into the corner.

@OnTheForecheck: They weren't happy words, either.

@OnTheForecheck: Veilleux and Fiala score almost back to back. 2-1 dark jerseys.

I seem to remember Veilleux lighting the lamp at last years scrimmage or prospect tourney as well.. Seems to be fairly underrated.. could perhaps be an Andrew Shaw type player if all goes as plan??

Also OTF's coverage has been disappointing.. No live blog or hourly updates of camp..Pathetic

Same with the Preds website... I remember in the Thrashers days, the team run Blueland Blog was on top of all the latest training camp developments...didn't need any lead time either to get stories out

thats what vets are supposed to do… let the kids know whats kosher and whats not… Diaby trying to impress the coaches but doesn't need to injure a teammate to do it

Clune is trying to get the attention of the coaches just like Diaby. I think that plays a pretty big role in him deciding to have words with the kids after a hit.
