I didn't say it wasn't a bad game, I'm just trying to pick out the positives. After going 1/5 on the PK, the first line took over and really started to establish themselves and the team managed to battle back rather than curling up into a ball and letting the game get out of hand.
While it certainly wasn't pretty, and neither were the Ottawa game or tonight's game, winning is what matters. Being able to face adversity in the eye and move on through it is what matters as a team.
No, they just turn into David Tanabe's.
Well I mean, yeah, we were talking about the Most Uninspired Win of the Year award though... Only reason it's even worth bringing up.
Uninspiring wins are still wins last time I checked. It doesn't matter how you played a game on 2/24/2013 if you're playing hockey still on 5/12/2013 or some other date in the playoffs. You take the two points, address the weak spots from your performance, and move on in the hunt for another two points.
I certainly won't complain about a win (no matter how ugly it may have been) if it ends a three-game skid and puts us back in third in the conference pending the outcome of the Tampa game.
I can't believe JStaal got a 3rd star with only 1goal, only 1 2nd assist, and only a +2...the only Cane on the team to do so.And your point is what exactly?
I'm not complaining in any capacity. Someone ACTUALLY brought up the Most Uninspiring Win of the Year award, and I was just wondering which game is most deserving thus far. I'm not complaining even a little, I don't know why we're talking about this...
You asked "Didn't we play like crap against NYI the first time as well?" to which I responded with my opinion that you challenged. That's why.
Either way...I'll hand the award to the Ottawa game. That one wins as most uninspiring for me.
I'll take ugly wins over "character building" losses any day
Which I stand by (and you didn't even address), going 1/5 on the PK is playing like crap, regardless of outcome, especially since IIRC the Isles PP going in was incredibly cold. Still not complaining, not even close.
I will say that Murphy is the first 'Canesplayerdefenseman in a long while that doesn't telegraph every ****** play he is about to do. He passes when you think he's going to shoot, and shoots when you think he's going to pass.
It's nice to have a player who thinks beyond "Shooting lane? HAMMER TIME WARUGHHGH!!!!111" and then watch as the shot gets blocked/goes wide right.
As I posted over in the other thread before you moved this post...
The vocal, opinionated portion of Section 332 disagrees with you. If the defensemen aren't shooting immediately, they don't know how to play hockey.

Are you sure you have?....how about this one: If it hadn't been for friggin' LaRose taking his roster spot, O'Sullivan would be lighting it up for us right now instead of being in...um...Finland.
Yes, it's LaRoses fault we've been losing lately.
Now I've heard everything...
That was an amazingly fun game to be at.
