SABRES RECALL PILUT

Posted on January 7, 2020 by Ian Ott | Leave a comment

The Buffalo Sabres have recalled defenseman Lawrence Pilut from the Rochester Americans (AHL).

Highlights:
  • Joins the Sabres for his first recall of the season after appearing in 33 games with the team during his first NHL season in 2018-19.
  • Led all AHL defensemen (min. 5 GP) with .87 points per game after totaling 26 points (4G, 22A) with the Americans in 2018-19.
  • Selected to play in the AHL All-Star Classic in both of his first two AHL seasons (didn’t participate in 2019 due to recall to Buffalo).
  • Earned the Salming Trophy as the SHL’s Defenseman of the Year in 2017-18.

Hmmm...still too many bodies back there. Wonder if something is up.

I really hope he gets legitimate playing time while he’s up here. It would just be a waste of everyone’s time to rotate him in and out of the 7D spot.

I personally want to see him with Risto or Joki.

That would leave Bogo and Miller out. Have to think another move is close. Unless Bogo is broke again

There has to be another move pending. Has to! Or an unannounced injury.

Otherwise the roster mismanagement is insane.

Or is this just more of the conversation about wanting to play people who want to be there? Bogosian has messed around with some dubious play in his own zone several games in a row now. Maybe he gets the seat in the press box that he deserves finally.

McCabe's injury? And I already thought that there was some kind of deal on the horizon. Why does Frolik get a visa for so long?

No.. NHL players typically get an O-1 visa for "extraordinary abilities" the process takes up to 3-7 days like it always has
Yeah, no policy changes there. There is the distinct possibility of staffing being shorter than in previous administrations though. Which could cause these visas to take a little extra time.
