I like Dubois‘ age but other than that, Lindholm is a perfect fit…

6’1, 200lbs, right shot, ppg center the last 4 years. Had 40+ goals last year. He was runner up to Bergeron for the Selke. He is a face-off ace, kills penalties, plays the bumper on the power play… He’s practically a Bergeron clone.

He also makes less than $5m, making him a lot easier to fit into the cap than PLD or JTM.

I would like PLD, but he would have to have an extension in place before I would trade for him, keep hearing he wants to head to the habs the minute he becomes a UFA. This place would go nuts if we traded a big package for him and then the next year he leaves to join the habs.

PLD isn’t an option… not giving up the assets it would take (that we don’t have) to land him, just for him to sleepwalk through the season and into a Habs uniform. Great talent but has always been trouble. He’s checked out with one destination in mind. Even an extension doesn’t make me less worried for a guy who requests a trade on a weekly basis.

Lindholm is a really good player in a poor situation. Put him with 2 of Pasta/Marchand/Debrusk/Bert and I think you get the PPG version of him.

Not crazy about Scheifele or Miller.

In a vacuum if I had to pick one it’s PLD, youngest with the highest upside. But Lindholm makes the most sense to really aggressively go after imo.

Yet.

People bring up that he forced his way out of two situations but he played on Columbus and Winnipeg, two of the worst NHL cities in the league and I think that while it is fair to criticize that, you also have to take the city into account.

Would you say no to an Eric Lindros trade because he didn’t want to play a single game for the Nordiques? When Wheeler first came to the Bruins after holding out on Arizona, the team that drafted him Bruins fans were ecstatic the 5th overall draft pick wanted to sign in Boston. Just remember that he refused to sign with the team that drafted him, quitting on them like many other NCAA players have.

I am torn.

I think Lindholm is the safer pickup. Guy can certainly play on a top line and with the talents of a David Pastrnak.

But PLD, when hes on his game, plays with that playoff like edge and talent that you want and need and is somewhat a rarity at the position in this league.

As others have said as well- he is young and has also shown he can drive a line. Biggest concern is that he IS young and is looking to yet again move on from his club (but again, look at the clubs hes been with)..

PLD - if he buys in and gives 100% effort he is the best center in this poll. That, though, is a big question mark.

I wanted him during his draft year and still do today.

None of them. Jean Luc Dubois has asked like 5 times to be traded since his junior days. Mark Scheifele and JT Miller are too old and not that good anyway.

Personally it’s Lindholm for me. Strong all around center in his prime. Feel like he fits the organization well.

PLD is another strong option, but I don’t think he gives you a ton in all areas of the game. Obviously a physically gifted and offensively talented player, I feel like his defense could improve. He is 24 though so there’s obviously some untapped potential there.

Also I don’t care about PLD’s “baggage”. Marc Savard had baggage, Taylor Hall had baggage. When guys enter the right situation they grow as people and as players.

I'm over this baggage too. I mean there are reports that Winnipeg has the worst locker room players have ever been apart of and we all know how Tortella runs his teams in Columbus. It has been two difficult places to start early in his career. I am sure he wants to get this third location right and Boston has a reputation as a strong locker room.

That being said, I would still prefer Lindholm but the gap isn't wide by any means.

I think ppl are over thinking it. PLD probably resigns because then he will part of a winning organization. Habs are probably going to be rebuilding for a few years at least. I can see him eventually going to Montreal. But maybe he really likes winning in Boston and stays.

I’m surprised jt miller doesn’t get love. Must be his long term contract everyone doesn’t want. Which is fair. His cap hit could be very bad at the end of the contract.
