That first season was pretty cool with Gordie Howe back in the NHL, but there's one thing I've always wondered and I hope someone knows the answer.

It's a little-known fact that Gordie Howe and Bobby Hull were teammates on this team after the Whalers traded for Hull. What I'm wondering is did the two aged superstars ever play on a line together during their brief stint as teammates in Hartford (9 regular season and 3 playoff games)?

They also had Dave Keon on that team, now that's an amazing line if all three were ever united.

According to this article, Howe and Hull played some together on the same line.

In a March, 1980, I remember watching a Hartford vs Boston game on tv and seeing Howe and Hull sitting next to each other on the bench.

Hull took number 16 during his brief stay in Hartford . Career minor leaguer and former Maine Mariner Bernie Johnston centered them during that Boston game.
