2014 Kings pulled off the reverse sweep, beat our stacked cross-town rivals, and the 2014 Hawks in possibly the best playoff series of the cap era, but we're losing this poll. Yep, seems about right.

Just a reminder that the 2012 Kings tied the record for least games played to win a Cup after beating the #1-3 seeds on top of being the first and only #8 seed to win a major professional sports title. I'm not saying both Kings teams deserve to win their polls, but one of them should/should have and the margins shouldn't be what they are.

LA certainly got the toughest draws. Keep in mind, though, that LAK was still two time Cup champs and losing some silly brackets doesn't diminish it. We all know if these games were actually played, all of them would likely be tossups. LAK had that "it" factor in those years. They punched above their weight, and I mean that as a compliment.

2014 Hawks are not the 2010 Hawks. Big difference

The larger issue is the margin of these polls than an actual win or loss. It's just blatant bias. The 2012 Kings had the most dominant Cup run of the cap era and that poll basically looked identical to this one versus a worse version of the Hawks.

Unfortunately, only picking a winner doesn't give enough info to gleam the nuances of a tight series. It's hard to pick LA if I think CHI wins a closer on in 7 games. It would be a war for sure. Tough draw, I think both LAK teams beat Washington 2018, St. Louis 2018, and maybe a couple of the Pittsburgh teams. Probably Chicago 2015, as well.

The 2013 Hawks were better than the 2010 Blackhawks. Id sooner believe the 2014 Kings would beat the 2010 Hawks than the 2012 Kings beating the 2013 Hawks.
