I was clearly wrong lol. That team really meshed well and was well coached. They played Canada perfectly.

I did enjoy that they substituted Moynihan for Kaliyev on the top line while protecting the lead in the final few minutes. Although maybe that speaks more for their confidence in Kaliyev's defensive play.

Gets a bit of a pass since he was injured but his selection could have really been scrutinized had the USA not captured gold. It was Moynihan who collided with one of his teammates on the offensive blue line with three minutes left; springing Canada on a breakaway. Of the Devils that participated in the WJC, again in fairness he was hurt, he was probably the least noticeable (other than Czech's Pyslik, who was also hurt) .
