Good we need it with Gards and Holzer possible coming up to the bigs. Should be a good AHL signing.
If it is only an AHL signing, why did they not obtain him in a minor AHL trade with San Antonio where he signed a few weeks ago?
If it's only an AHL move, there was no need to put him on the 50-player reserve list.
I'm afraid that fans will see him play in Toronto for at least a few games.
I thought Ranger was unlikely to sign an NHL deal this season. Any news to suggest he'll sign with the Leafs?
I wouldn't assume this is an AHL deal. With Gardiner out we only have 5 dmen with NHL experience. Holzer is a good bet to make the Leafs but I would expect Mottau is insurance in case Holzer can't handle the NHL. Either way I'd say there is a decent chance he starts the season on the NHL roster.

we have one.. called C. Orr.
why not, probably a cheap signing for depth as 8th D and AHL. 500k to 1mil -1year two way. Doesn't hurt us in the short/long run since all the top FA are gone and we have cap.
