He's played 7 games after clearing waivers (and recall). So he has another three games, cumulatively (or 30 days on NHL roster) before he'd have to clear waivers again.

I highly doubt he would have cleared waivers if he played more than 10 games. So next be call up I suppose it’s either lose him or perhaps he has enough value now for a draft pick?

I would hate to bring him up only to improve the bottom 6 of a team like Edmonton.

If he got claimed I doubt anyone would be too concerned. For now might as well take the cap savings.
