Chytil @ 78?

One of the guys I would obviously would have liked to see more of. But what I did see, I wasn't that impressed. Needs to add muscle, was losing almost every 1on1 battle. And while he flashed some skill, he wasn't consistent with it and invisble at times. See the upside but still think he has a ways to go.

Like it for the Sens , Lind then Brook ... two good choices; Brook a RHD fills a need for a D on that side. Lind seems like a good fit.

From what I have watched on POJ, he's a 1st rounder for sure, potentially a great steal in the second. Looks like a better version of Jeremy Roy. PP QB with some defensive capabilities.

I like your list for the most part, it's pretty similar to mine in many ways. What's up with Vilardi at #11 though?

I don't see LA taking Kristian Vesalainen at 11th. They're looking for speed and skill under the new management. Size doesn't matter that much anymore.

I could easily see the argument for a late 1st, for sure in the same tier as Hague as far as defencemen go in this draft. Very young and has some great tools to work with. However, he is very lanky and occasionally gets caught out of position defensively. And while his offensive game again shows lots of potential, he hasn't proved it's as well rounded and dangerous as some of the guys ahead of him.

Van would likely take Glass at 5 over Mittelstadt and either Ratcliffe or a D at 33

I could see Glass going at 5, but I see Mittelstadt all the way here. Vancouver already has the well rounded, high end 2-way 2C. That's what I think Glass we become at the next level. They need a guy who is dynamic offensively with 1C potential, and that is Mittelstadt.

At 33, I still think the Nucks need all the help they can get at forward. Sure, Ratcliffe makes sense there too, but they are both big and powerful LW's in the end. And I just have a feeling that Comtois is favoured more here and still seen as a 1st rounder by some.

Where is Eemeli Rasenen? All the draft rankings have him ahead of his teammate Linus Nyman who you have at 92

CBJ wouldn't pass up poehling and Yamamoto if they are there. Which of the 2 depends on scouting and who they favor but but it would be one of those 2.

I'd be surprised to see the jets pass on POJ.

He is an option there. But with Winnipeg taking Valimaki earlier in this situation I figure they look elsewhere than for another top-4 good puck moving D with offensive potential. Elvenes has some great offensive tools that I think the Jets could use for some scoring depth beyond their top youngsters.

I think this is the closest I have seen a 2-12 spot in the draft IMO in a while. It's not that I don't like him, I just like each of the guys above him and think they have more potential (albeit some more risk as well). I think Vilardi's skating will hold him back more than people think and don't think he has the puck skills at the same level as some of the guys above him. Obviously not a popular opinion, and he is right behind quite a few guys, but just not nearly 100% sold that he is a top-3 player in the draft like most people think.

The thing is Vesalainen doesnt't just have size. He also has the speed and skill of a top-15 pick for sure. Just look at how dangerous he was at the U18's. His problem this year was consistency. If he was able to carry the high level of play of that tournament throughout the whole year, he would without a doubt be a top-5 pick. I think LA is willing to take the risk at that spot that he puts all those tools together into a dominant top-6 PF.

Curious that you think Carolina ranks Rasanen at 52, but he doesn't land in your top 150

I know many people are high on Rasanen. Massive defensemen who put up some solid points in their draft year don't grow on trees. He will almost surely be a top-75 pick come draft day.

However, I prefee my defensemen to (1) Be able to skate and (2) Be able to defend. In many viewings of Rasanen, I have not seen that and therefore don't see an NHL future.

Nyman though, is a guy who has grown has game extremly well over the course of the year. He has his faults, but there is lots of offensive upside there that I would be willing to take a chance on in late round 3 and beyond.

I wouldnt be shocked with either of those picks but I wouldnt be as confident that their pick at that spot would be one of those 2 either. Kostin had an unfortunate injury, but still has so much skill thats hard to pass up on that late in the 1st. Think he has a much greater chance at becoming an impact player than either of them.
