I think he realises that he's got to do a bit more of this stuff now that he's so limited. His shot isn't there anymore, the vision, the ability to close gaps.

Pretty crazy to see, though. This guy has been doing this since 1997...

Chara went from enforcer role to elite defenseman who could provide offense to a pure shut down defenseman back to an enforcer type.

The way to fight Chara is NOT to stand there and wait until he grabs you by the collar. He'll just hold you off from 5 feet away and hit you at will.

You have to get INSIDE his reach somehow and start the festivities before he's set.

Which puts Chara's scary size into perspective, Viel is 6'2 205
