Sort of feels like if a reunion were going to happen, it would have happened by now.

I go back to Emrick’s commentary in the waning moments of the Tampa series.

I’d have to imagine he knew something and that the writing was on the wall.

The past two 1 year deals were done just about right away. He would not be looking at a lot of money here and the Bruins have the space to sign him easily enough if they wanted.

Change is also good. Most of the team has been locked into their current roles since forever.

This is one of the few changes you can make without going down the Edmonton play for first overall pick route. Particularly given the hardware Butch and Donny won recently.

It’s somewhat unfair to Chara but he hasn’t been the 2009 guy for ages.

Seriously? Bruins kept Chara onboard up until what 42 or 43...

You cant expect the Bruins to play a player until 45+ ... unless they play like they are 35

Chara skating and endurance has regressed ... it tires the rest of the team to try to overhelp. Especially Chara D partner

The Bruins offense also suffers because one player can never jump in/pinch
