At this point I'd be shocked to see Redmond in the NHL next season. Some team will sign him to a two-way contract but honestly he might only be able to crack the Maple Leafs' roster with how bad he is, and that's because they want to lose.

Then again, maybe Toronto wouldn't be such a bad thing for him. Maybe Babcock can figure him out because he needs all the help in the world. He's a lost cause out there.

But his Corsi shows he's a better defenseman than Beauchemin. I bet he will get a NHL job next year.

Nice knowing ya Zach, but you suck.

Players fail to transition from the AHL to the NHL all the time but this was an extreme failure. It almost looks like he took on some type of illness because he looks like Monty Burns physically out there. He was like an EJ clone compared to his peers in the AHL both physically and offensively but that didn't come close to carrying over. Even when he went back to the AHL early this year he looked weak among his peers.

He's a phenomanel guy and I wish him all the best but as an Avalanche fan I hope I never see him suit up for my team again.

I think Redmond may end up alright somewhere else, he is slow, but that's certainly not being helped by the Avs coaching and disorganized play

Do you mean slow mentally? Skating is the only thing he's good at. Of course clearly both would be the fault of the coaching staff.

You never know. Bods is just as bad with the stupid plays. Give it a week of him doing the exact same stupid things and he'll be benched for Redmond, count on it.

Outside of Beauch and EJ, and Barrie offensively, there's a bunch of really bad defenseman on this team. It very likely could cost them the playoffs, which has literally been the same story for a decade now.

I still think he has the skill set to be a contributor at the NHL level in a depth role (perhaps on a deeper roster with better D in place). I think there are a lot of reasons behind his apparent decline that aren't all on him. But right now it's not helping that he seems terribly redundant in an organization that also has Gelinas, Bodnarchuk, and Gormley. Hopefully he catches on somewhere else and excels.

If he ever realizes that he doesn't need to be a star with the puck on his stick and that he won't die if he were to consistently engage physically; he could be a nifty 3rd pairing PP-specialist. Alas, it doesn't seem like Zach is cool with either of these things.

Could certainly see him becoming the Dman version of Johnny Malkin (for the Leafs) in the coming years...if Babcock can get through to him...
