I had missed the first 10 minutes of the game so I wasn't even aware of McAvoy hitting Marner from behind until today. I remember being pissed at Wagner for manhandling Marner in front of the net at one point and then, sure enough, he tries to decapitate Reilly later in the game.

A Boston player cross-checked Marner (from behind) into the boards during the playoff last year too. Cross-checking is an alpha dog move and they all do it on a regular basis. The refs never call it.

Do they make available the referee crews for each game? I've long thought that the Canadian refs go out of their way NOT to call penalties against the Leafs. It's similar to how local hockey journalists go out of their way to not seem biased FOR the Leafs so they purposely play the devils advocate and criticize them.
