Wow...Great shootout goal by Zach Hamill . Seems to have been forgotten about in the draft lists a bit. Took a lot of balls to attempt this shot to win the game...

Where do you think he will end up being drafted this year?

I'm just going to sum up what I believe the ensuing discussion will look like.

Post 1
Yeah, that's nice and all, but you could never do that in a real game.

Post 2
It won the shootout

Post 3
So what? The kid can stickhandle. Let's see him try it in regulation.

Post 4
Why can't people give credit where credit is due. Good job Zach!

Post 5
Crosby's better

Post 6
Crosby sucks

Post 7
Latendresse is better than both of them.

Post 8
Meh, Robbie Schremp can do that

Post 9
I know 20 fifteen yr old girls that can stickhandle like that

Very good second post, definately better that the intended theme of the thread. Bravo.

It was a fine goal to be sure, but to agree with theoretical posts 1-9, it's been done at game speed on several occasions by several players already. Just throw it into a montage with all the others.

He'll go top 10. Another quite competent Western Canadian kid that doesn't get hyped like some.

Here
How big is he?

if I remember correctly he's small and tiny which hurts his ranking...

Latendresse > Hamill.

:dunno:

Why are you comparing Hamill with someone not even in his draft class?

Sick goal btw...the more impressive is the timing...he did it at the right time and you can't teach those instincts.

I saw Hamill play last night in Vancouver against the Giants. To my disappointment Mueller was out of the lineup for whatever reason, and you could kind of tell Hamill was the go to guy as a result. He didn't have any points (it was a 2-1 shootout win) but he did flash some nice moves, specifically on the PP. I didn't notice him much at even strength. At one point he even tried the lacrosse style move from behind the net that the Michigan guy scored on a few years ago. Hamill has slick puckhandling ability and looks like a good set-up man. However he looks smaller than the 5-11, 190 lbs he's listed at.

Post of the week!

I could see Zach going top 10 or I could see him sliping to the late first at this point. His skill set is undeniable and I think he's one of a very few players I've seen in this draft that have top line upside in the NHL. I'm honestly not sure why the guy isn't getting that much hype this draft year since it's appearing to be a rather weak top-end compared to the past few years.

Thanks! Did I miss the cut-off for Post of the Year? (I am not a humble man)
