Buffalo Sabres place D Zach Bogosian on waivers - TSN.ca
If the Leafs don't get a defenseman by the deadline I could see them trading a contract and a 7th rd. pick for his services 50% retained.
I doubt any team claims him on waivers at his full cap hit. Sabres would have to retain salary for a team to pick him up for a 7th.
He asked for a trade in December and apparently they must not have been able to find one, so his value is zero?
Who in god’s names wants a injury-prone, malcontent, very expensive, ****ty defensemen?
Is he just really bad now? The cap hit is high but even Gudbranson returned a pick and he’s got term still.
Been a bad 24hrs for all the Zach/ks in the league, eh?.
He will be moved, it will be unspectacular, but he will be moved.
Zach's a good dude... sad to see him go out like this. I wish him luck.
yes, hip surgeries didnt do him any favors either. Dudes a turnstile.
Jesus i hope not.
Too expensive. Nobody is taking that off waivers. Even at the deadline i don't see much interest. Bogosian hasn't been good in years. Maybe someone takes a flyer on for a 7th to 6th rounder for him and the Sabres retain but Bogosian really has no value.
If he clears waivers, and Buffalo retains half his salary, I'll shoot an expiring Tim Schaller to Buffalo.
It's not a great offer, but we save some cap space, and Buffalo has a player they can use on the roster.
I doubt anyone wants to use up that much deadline space on Bogosian when there are just as good options out there at far lesser cap hits.
If he comes back to the Peg, people can make use of their old jerseys...that's a win-win!
I'd be fine with bringing him back for the rest of the season.
In 2008, I preferred Bogosian over Doughty for LA's #2 pick. Zach going on waivers is making me start to question if I might've misjudged.
Now? He's been bad for a long time.
Meh, jury is still out...you still may have been right.
He is a free RHD who is a UFA this summer. If one has the capspace it's a low risk move
Wouldn’t be shocked if the Jackets put a claim in for him considering all of our injuries. We have tons of cap space and his contract ends after this season, so very low risk type of move
Yeah but not a good one and also one that is really expensive.
Having watched him play for the last several seasons, I might say even less than that.
and to think Alex Pietrangelo went 4th overall to the Blues and John Carlson went 27th overall. wow what a bust Zach Bogosian was, awful pick
Separate names with a comma.
