If this was end of the season, thats one thing... But since its right before season starts, something fishy is going on

Start of the season makes more sense with an internal GM change like this. Most of the heavy lifting for the offseason is done, and BrisBoes was involved in every decision.

This is not good for Tampa, Stevie Y is the reason Tampa is what they are, he's the guy that gets players to sign for under market Value

This is a BIG blow to Tampa

Holy **** yes! Looks like we are landing a top 5 GM in the league. If this happens it's hilarious that we've been confidently joking about it for years.
If there is one thing about Yzesus...He is loyal and a true leader. So while we all joked about it, we always knew there was truth in it.

Don't discredit Brisebois, the guy did a lot of our team too. The team is as much Brisebois's as its Yzerman's.

Not saying this is the reason but Steve's wife and kids still live in Detroit. Yzerman has held this job while his family has lived in Detroit the whole time in Tampa so maybe the travel and lack of seeing his family played a part. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if he ends up working for the Red Wings again at some point.

Well obviously im praying that what you are referring to wont actually be the case. Im more/less just trying to be a little more positive here

Turns out it was fishy. Executives skip out of contracts to a favored destination without a second thought these days.

Imagine staying in Detroit when you could easily and understandably move to Tampa...
