Most Disappointing Yute Award :Ian Mitchell

Mitchell was supposed to be NHL ready and yo be a rock for a top 4 dman.

He seemed to getceven worse to tge point of incompetent futility in the last 2 games where he looked so overnayched and futile in defending net front.

He wss not even close to the hype built up for hom.

Very disappointing in that a supposed linchpin of our future defense struggled so badly. It was surprising and unexpected to the degree that he looked lije he does not belong.
Neither did he make up for his defensive struggles with some offsetting goid offense...He just did notvshow much...but it was not even a meh criticism but more of a looks lijevtotal bust criticism.

First with checking battles...if you fail at that the rest doesn't matter..No team can use a smaller dnan who gets overnatched on basic strength...experience can help bad cover decisions...but only strength will help you win physical puck battles when you are roghtbon your check...butvofvyou lose 75% of your shovesxand prevention at tge net or around the net..you in a heal of trouble.

Maybe adding 20lbs of upper body muscle can help hom.. otger wise it is the weakling getting dominated syndrome.

When you compound this flaw of strength deficiency with struggling to stay on your check as he skates away, you are just asking for goalsvintk your net fron the ooos continuing possession.

He just looks overeat he'd and I think lost whatever confidence he had entering tge pros.
Looks more regressed to me now.

Sorry to be so down on hom..but theeye test is not pretty on hom.
