Yeah...it was a pretty back and forth game. They both had their chances to score in normal time so a 'draw' was a pretty fair result (not like the Ireland game, where the Netherlands were completely dominant). This squad has proven to be pretty resilient. I'm confident for the final.

Hup Holland!!!

Koorevaar is a hero. Brobbey too though Redan set him up for a great chance in the 75th minute. Netherlands looked better.

So happy for them to win. :)

It's true. The Netherlands 2002/03 crops are supposed to be even better than the 01s. They could end up seeing a pretty big resurgence in the upcoming generation with the 01/02/03s playing together. Obviously only time will tell, but I'm very optimistic. In the next 6-10 years between the likes of van de Beek, de Jong, Fosu-Mensah, Kluivert, de Ligt, Redan, Brobbey, Gravenberch, van Gelderen, Ihattaren, Unuvar, Simons and a bunch of others, not to mention late bloomers, if we don't have a team capable of challenging for the World Cup or Euro I'll be quite disappointed. Especially since this group seems to have a sense of togetherness that other groups haven't had (the Dutch downfall).

Yes, I noticed that most of the squads have quite a few of thier best players in this age group missing.

Gouiri is once again killing the scoring competition. Came in late today against U19 England. Scored a brace. He has 31 goals in 35 youth NT selections, knowing that quite often he has played with older players.

Then and there
Even if the France scorers get a lot of attention, I think their midfield has been impressive for the last two games. Especially MGB's Michael Cuisance, who missed the first game (which they lost).

Maybe it's his experience playing in the men's league, which makes him stand out more at this stage and other players will catch up in the future years, but he looks like he could play for the Men's NT already in the near future. Although when the likes of Rabiot doesn't make the squad, it's hard to tell whether that's realistic or not.

Crazy semi final between France and Italy right now.
France is really dominating this game and hit the bar twice, but Italy has had 3 counters and scored twice.
It's halftime, and you feel anything could happen. France could be back in this game very soon or get scored on 3 times in the second half.

France missed a lot of good chances, Gouiri included. Adli was very good, he looks ready for substantial playing time in Ligue 1.

2-0 nothing after 30 mins with Kean missing an open net just before halftime. Our best player wasn't even playing, bravi ragazzi.

Norway beating England 3-0 to qualify for the U20 WC.

Not that Norway will ever be a force at football, but the depth seen in the age group around 17-23 has never before been seen in Norway.

That team can go on and win the U20 WC. Will probably never be able to say that about a Norwegian national team (men's team that is) again.

Yes France was the better team but couldn't take their chances.
I like Guitane too. He'll shine with Rennes soon.

Big advantage for Italy in the U-19 final, as Portugal's first choice keeper Diogo Costa misses out and the back-up hasn't played at all in the tournament. And they miss another starter as well. Scamacca starts, Moise Kean is on the bench.

It’s been a fun game. Portugal took a 2-0 lead and the Italians stormed back to equalize within minutes. Joao Felipe just put Portugal back up 3-2 in extra time and he has looked the best player in the game.
