The rink ..too often
That's a pretty tough exercise off the top of my head, especially now with digital storage. I find I listen to a whole album a lot less. I have grabbed a couple off here, especially Travelling Wilburys, which is fantastic.

In no particular order; and not necessarily a huge fan of some of the artists, I gotta have:

Springsteen - Born in the USA; the first album I ever bought
Peter Gabriel - So
Soul Asylum - Let Your Dim Light Shine
U2 - Achtung Baby
Nirvana - Nevermind
Def Leppard - Hysteria; and no apologies
Bryan Adams - Reckless; "
Yeah that Travelling Wilburys one. Did they just have the one? It's awesome.
AC/DC - Who Made Who. If that counts as an album?
Mötley Crüe - Dr Feelgood
Hole - Live Through This

Think I'll have to edit/add more a bit later.

when I was a little kid my dad would have that album on in the car a lot so it is a favorite. it's probably not their "best" but I don't really care because my list isn't about what is the "best".

There's no need to get defensive. I was just surprised it was your personal favorite. I'm the guy who doesn't think there's a difference between best and favorite, so I don't care about some objective/technically evaluated answer either.

I didn't think anyone else could/would put a metal band next to Duran Duran, but there ya go. Awesome list.

Thanks Pavelski! I'm really lucky in that I had friends who were into a lot of different stuff growing up and music was also very accessible here in NY with the library system and a zillion concert venues in the 90s. Also bands and artists used to be like hockey players where we'd each have a favorite and learn the stats, and always talk about them in MS and HS. Plus we all played in bands.

I looked over my list and realized that I totally forgot Sabbath and Pantera :( such will happen when you go hurry up.

I have maybe 10 min to think of this so I'll give it a shot. It won't be perfect but I hope it gets at least one person on here to either discuss an album or listen to
22. Del The Funkee Homosapien-I Wish My Brother George Was Here

Good album. I'm a bit surprised to see it so high but it's definitely a fun, quirky album.

The list was done with no particular order and done in hurry up mode so 22 is just an arbitrary number.

Funny thing about hip hop on my list is that I got into hip hop really late. First album in that genre I owned was 3 Ft. High And Rising by De La Soul and that wasn't until I was 19. The only negative part about that era is there definitely was a whole hard rock/metal vs. rap thing which is silly in retrospect. About 8 months after I bought that album, the Gorillaz first album came out (aka the dude from Blur's side project) and on it was Del doing Clint Eastwood and the funky Rock The House. Between that and his song in Tony Hawk I was intrigued and picked up George in October 2001.

The rest is history...and then I heard A Tribe Called Quest :yo::yo::yo::yo::yo::yo::yo:

The only thing worse than rap vs metal is when the two of them fused. :Shudder:

Tribe is such a good group. I also think De La Soul are a little underappreciated overall in the hip hop community. Maybe not hard enough? Well, also they're real old at this point so I could be way off.
