I know it's not a "true" detective film but throw Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country some love with a huge part of the film being a space "whodunnit?"

Spock was written as Holmes with Uhura/Scotty/Chekov as Watson. The director/cowriter Nicholas Meyer always wrote Spock with elements of Holmes/Batman and had previously written a Holmes novel The Seven Percent Solution.
