Oilers:

Strengths:

McDavid
Centres generally
Bottom six depth
Toughness
Young, high ceiling defencemen

Weaknesses
Proven top six wingers
No #1 defenceman
Roster deadweight
Special teams

Unknowns
Which Talbot is the real Talbot
Can Klefbom/Larsson return to 16/17 form
Can at least 1 or 2 of Rattie/Puljujarvi/Yamamoto keep up their strong preseason play
Can the new coaches fix the special teams
Can Lucic just be sorta shitty instead of completely shitty

Rangers

Strengths:

Flying way under the radar pretending they are rebuilding, even most of the Rangers fans believe it

New fresh coach and system that other coaches don't yet have the answer to

they now practice, in the past they just winged it

Good depth

Weaknesses:

butter soft

a lot of question marks

Neal Pionk is their best Dman

No real commitment to tanking or to winning the Cup, will likely result in 9th to 11th spot in the East.

Not much accountability still

Flames:

Strength:
- Great top 12. Super deep now. Best depth Calgary's had in my adult life.
- Great youth. Likely the youngest team in the league now with Valimaki/Dube making the team.
- Great top 6D. When a guy like Rasmus Andersson gets demoted on the last day, you're deep on the backend. Was able to move a guy like Kulak (solid 6D) for nothing.

Weaknesses:
- Goaltending. 1G is pretty league average. Backups is frightening how bad it is.
- Lack of elite elite talent. Gaudreau is close, but Flames still don't have an elite 1C

Hawks:

Strengths:
-Top end Center
-Top end Winger
-Forward depth (3rd and 4th lines)
-Bottom pairing defensemen (mediocre)
-Good number 1 goalie when healthy

Weaknesses:
-Top 3 dmen on the team are not quality (aged out defenders)
-Backup goalie
-Blue-chip top 6 forward prospect
-Quality top 6 forwards (need 2 more 60+ point players, unless Saad starts performing)

Conclusion: The defense and our now starter goalie is bad and we don't have enough quality forward talent to support Kane and Toews.

Canucks Strengths

= Decent prospects pool
decent powerplay actually for a team as bad as the Canucks

= roster wise is weak on everything. Tanev Pettersson, Boeser Horvat are the only bright spots on the team, not enough to push them to playoff team respect.
Not enough respect for Edler. Lipesic will be a suprise for a lotta the haters here too

2022 Cup to Calgary
:flames
Strengths:
- Every forward line will have a ton of speed from Gaudreau/Lindholm/Backlund/Frolik/Bennett/Czarnik/Dube
- Every forward has a ton of skill from Gaudreau/Tkachuk/Bennett/Monahan/Lindholm/Neal/Czarnik/Jankowski/Backlund/Dube/Ryan/Frolik/Mangiapane
- Giordano/Brodie/Hanifin/Hamonic/Valimaki/Kylington/Andersson/Stone/Prout <- that's nine deep on defense of guys I'd trust in a game in April.
- Penalty Killing
- Johnny Hockey

Weaknesses:
- Irrationally using most dynamic young natural centre as a bottom line left winger
- no RHS PPQB while Andersson is in the minors.
- Aversion to using a Common Sense Setup on the Power Play
- Goaltending is a total crapshoot
- James Neal's age, role, and lack of speed could be a problem

You keep saying this......

........doing so doesn't make it true.

Listen, I like Bennett. Has he been lead down the best path for a successful hockey career, probably not. But he has been given opportunities to show what he is capable of, and he's failed.

Bennett's biggest problem is consistency. He can look like the guy we were supposed to have drafted at times and at other times he looks like a third/fourth line winger taking way too many stupid penalties.

It's completely up to him to show consistency in his game. This is his "do or die" season in my opinion. New coach, new opportunity. He'd better make the most of it or he's going to be a bottom 6 guy the rest of his career, which would be a shame because I think he's better than that.

So...

Weaknesses: Literally every other part of our roster and team.

I don't disagree.

Although some of our guys aren't horrible...just playing above where they should be be cause we have so little.

Sharks top 6 forwards are decent but not in the top half of the league. Id consider that a weakness.

You seem like a pessimist about your team.

Strengths:
Right side D when Weber is healthy (Weber, Petry, Juulsen, Fluery, Brooks is a great right side)
Wingers (lacks an elite on the left side with Patches gone but Drouin, Tatar, Gallagher, Byron, and Lehkonen are all capable top 6 players when not snake bitten, Hudon and Armia have potential to grow into that level)
Centre depth prospects
PP was a strength last season
Youth, Habs are a young team

Don’t sell your team short. For a rebuilding team they are in a good spot.

shhhh we are not rebuilding... :sarcasm:

And we are not a young team. Half the league's teams are younger.

:blues

Strengths:
Impressive forward depth
Excellent 1-2 punch at RHD
Solid infusion of youth
Gorgeous third jerseys
Fans ability to count out goals
Darren Pang

Weaknesses:
A very up and down goaltending tandem
Powerplay run by Mike Yeo
Perhaps a lack of grit/pure defensive players
50+ year curse
Fans inability to get across that Pietrangelo/Parayko aren’t going anywhere
Darren Pang

Strengths:
Depth
Fast
High quality top 3 D
Goaltending
Good PP

Weakness:

Question at Top 4 RHD (may be filled this year by Sergachev or Cernak)
Penalty Kill
Small forwards
Question of whether they are able to withstand the physical depths of the playoffs.
