Pens current roser minus Recchi, unless he'll play until he's in his mid-40's..

Pens will still have one of the youngest teams in the league even 6 years from now. :sarcasm:

Pittsburghish
Current Pens:

Jordan Staal-Sidney Crosby-Erik Christensen
Ryan Malone-Evgeni Malkin-Jonathan Filewich
Ryan Stone-Max Talbot-Colby Armstrong
Daniel Carcillo-Dominic Moore-Chris Thorburn
Extras: Michael Gergen, Tyler Kennedy

Ryan Whitney-Mark Eaton
Kris Letang-Alex Goligoski
Noah Welch-Ryan Lannon
Extra: Carl Sneep

MA Fleury
Dave Brown/Robert Goepfert/Patrick Ehelecher

I'd imagine Pens will upgrade wingers via free agency or trades.
I really like the idea of a Staal/Sid/Christensen line, though. Staal would be good along the boards/going to the net and is already defensively responsible and Christensen will rack up a ton of goals with Sid setting him up.

Elias - Zajac - Bergfors
Vasyunov - Parise - Gionta
Vrana - Stajan - Zharkov
Parise - Madden - Clarkson

Hale - Martin
White - Corrente
Fayne - Greene

Doyle
Brodeur(if he didn't retire)

Parise - Zajac - Bergfors
Elias - Romano - Gionta
Clarkson - Vrana - Zharkov
Rupp - Sundstrom - Pelley

Maybe Vasyunov in the lineup if he works on his D, and is more aggresive

Fraser - Martin
Hale - Corrente
Oduya - Greene

I could see Eckford, or Zimmerman replacing any of those defensemen

REDO

Ovechkin(I really want him as a Shark)-Marleau-Michalek
Cheechoo-Pavelski-Bernier
Clowe-Fisher(Ottawa)-Setogouchi
Mcginn-Goc-Igguden

Wishart-Vlasic
Carle-Spang
Erhoff-Seabrook(Chicago)

Griess

Since we got to midseason what are your guys prediction now?

Ok 3 points

1. In six years Seabrook will be a top pairing d-man and so would be unwilling to sign for a team where he wouldn't get the minutes he deserves
2. He'll be Chicago's captain
3. In 6 years he'll be wanting a fair bit of money so with the other players in your team you wouldn't fit under the cap.

I'll make a team just based on resigning players they have currently. Obviously they'd look to pick up some UFAs but you can't speculate which ones. They also may fail to resign Havlat but you never know.

Ruutu - Toews - Havlat
Makarov - Bolland - Skille
Blunden - Davis/Juutilainen - Brouwer
Stewart - Fraser - Bertram
extra Bickell/Kontiola/Brophey

Seabrook - Barker
Keith - Kukkonen
Wisniewski - Hjalmarsson
extra Byfuglien/Pepin/Richmond

Crawford
Fallon

I liked what I saw of Clutterbuck last fall during the preseason. I hope he develops, we could use that kind of energy.

Gaborik - Koivu - Pouliot
Madsen - Sheppard - Bouchard
Clutterbuck - Irmen - Voloshenko
sprunger- Hickey- parrish (near retirement).

Burns - Schultz
Thelen- Stoner
Belle - Medvec

Josh Harding
Sprunger? Hickey? Hickey's 5 years away from AHL action. He's likely to play a year of USHL then college. 6 years might be his rookie season. I don't know much about Sprunger. Medvec ... now there's a longshot.

Here's my take and I won't pick lines cuz there's the possibility that Lemaire might still be the coach :biglaugh: and y'all know he doesn't keep lines together:

C: Koivu, Sheppard, Irmen + UFA/Trade
LW: Pouliot/Voloshenko, Boogaard, Olvecky + Veilleux/UFA/Trade
RW: Gaborik, Bouchard, Parrish/Trade/UFA, Clutterbuck/Hickey/Madsen
D: Johnsson, Burns, Foster, Reitz/Thelen, Stoner/Belle + Skoula/UFA/Trade
G: Harding + ???/UFA/Trade/Waiver wire pickup?

If both Pouliot and Voloshenko pan out, that'd be awesome, but you just never know. Also, Koivu will have been Captain for a season or two by then.

of course some of these guys are a ways off, the point was to select the team 6 years from now....thats a long ways off and impossible to do. There is no way imo kim johnsson will be here in 6 years, he's already getting criticized.

Hey, this sounds fun and unrealistic:

Heatley - Spezza - Eaves
Vermette - Zubov - Mirnov
Foligno - Fisher - Weller
Bass - Hennesy - Neil

Meszaros - Atyushov
Volchenkov - Phillips
Lee - Schubert

Emery

NOTE: Crosby will sign with the Habs when he becomes a UFA, its destiny and this roster is of course accurate to the degree that the Canadiens do not draft one NHL caliber prospect in the next six years...

considering the hatefest between Crosby and the Habs right now, which is starting to look like the beginning of a very bitter rivalry, I'd say the chances of Crosby ever being a Hab are declining. Still, feel free to wish in one hand and **** in the other...
