I dare to open this thread. Here we can tip how will conference tables look at the end of the regular season.

I'd start.

1. SKA
2. CSKA
3. Dynamo
4. Lokomotiv
5. Severstal
6. Lev
7. Slovan
8. Atlant
9. Donbass
10. Dinamo Mn
11. Vityaz
12. Spartak
13. Medvescak
14. Dinamo Riga

I think first four teams are just the best ones in this conference and are somewhere else.
I like and enjoyed Severstal playing style very much, hopefully they will remain on the 5th place.
Lev is questionable but should make at least playoffs without bigger problems.
Following Slovan, well, this is hard to explain, as a fan I just must believe but I trust in the team's heart and spirit and that we'll make it one more time.
Atlant is doing great progressive job, somehow they made it last season therefore I can't imagine they wouldn't do it this year.
Donbass and Dinamo Mn are gonna fight until the end and they both can replace Slovan and we can lastly finish even 10th.
Vitaz and Spartak both can be very serious rivals in PO promotion struggle but I think they will fall back at the end.
Finally, Riga and Medvescak just come to me as weaker teams than the other.

I've started only with one conference for the beginning. Also because of the fact I don't know the other part of the league so good.

To be honest I don't follow Eastern Conference that much as but here are my predictions for the West:

1. SKA
2. Dynamo
3. CSKA
4. Lev
5. Lokomotiv
6. Severstal
7. Atlant
8. Donbass
9. Dinamo Mn
10. Medvescak
11. Slovan
12. Vityaz
13. Spartak
14. Dinamo Riga

PS: Places 7-11 depend on team chemistry and any of these teams could end the regular season on any of these five positions. Currently I think Medvescak AHLers are stronger than Slovan but weaker than Atlant, Donbass or Minsk.

PPS:

East:

1. Kazan
2. Omsk
3. Chelyabinsk
4. Magnitogorsk
5. Ufa
6. Novosibirsk
7. Nizhny Novgorod
8. Astana
9. Nizhnekamsk
10. Khanty-Mansiysk
11. Novokuznetsk
12. Khabarovsk
13. Yekaterinburg
14. Vladivostok

Eastern Conference is not interesting :D

Why you all pur Riga at last place? In my opinion the are top 6 (SKA, CSKA, Loko, Dinamo Moscow, Lev and maybe Donbass) and others.

On paper team doesn't look much stronger than last year but maybe they surprise us. I wouldn't mind having Riga back in playoffs. :)

PS:

From a Western European/North American POV it is far more interesting to follow Western Conference due to the missing import limits and it's way easier to visit a game on EU territory than in Nizhny Novgorod or Kazan.

Undoubtedly we can finish 11th. But I just don't believe Medvescak can be better than us or make 10th place, Minsk the same.

Now we have Ozo :D I believe we will make the playoffs :yo:
Can't say so surely about making, but I believe Riga will be really able to at least struggle for a place in the playoffs. What I can't say about Minsk, whose transfer policy is beyond my understanding this summer.

As I mentioned. Anything can happen, especially with newcomers. Last year few people would have believed Lev and Slovan both would make the playoffs in such a convincing manner.

The italicized teams could go either way within those positions.

Oh yeah and GC goes to Magnitogorsk.

I am trying to get more involved in the KHL especially now that Medvescak is in the league and they are doing great things for European hockey.

So this is a great thread. But I am shocked that CSKA Moscow will not be higher with Kovalchuk being back. I understand that he is just one player, NHL or not, but any reason why he doesnt help them to a big time title. Is Dynamo just to strong?

Also, awesome to see the freshman Medvescak be in the mid group for many guys. I am shocked as well. Good for them to pick up guys like Jessiman and Cheechoo, wonder how good they will do.

Kovalchuk signed with SKA St.Petersburg not CSKA Moscow ;) and yes, SKA is no.1, as always :D
