Just wanted to see what everyone thought their roster looked like. This is what I'm hoping for, lines 2 and 3 are basically 2a and 2b. My reasoning behind those two lines is I wanted spooner and Zuc together and didnt want Anderson and Chytl together. I find it sad that Letteri may not make this team every night because we keep Vesey and MacLeod.

Kreider Zibanajad Buchnevich
Spooner Anderson Zuccarello
Chytl Hayes Fast
Vesey Namesicov Letteri

Skjei Shattenkirk
Smith mcquaid
Staal DeAngelo

Edit...not sure why this posted twice sorry

I’d roll with something similar to what Blue Blooded posted in the other thread.

The only outstanding question for me is if they want to run with a 1 line team (KZB) or split them up to try to find some balance.

Staal shouldn’t sniff the top 6. Had the weakest camp in his position group and was massively outplayed by Hajek who at the very least should get an extended look in the regular season. Things change when you play for keeps but if he can keep up, I’d rather he iron out his game at the NHL level.

I think that's why Quinn was throwing other players up with Kreider and Mika. To try and get some balance going. Buch is still fine if he is not on the top line but he should be on the 2nd or worst case the 3rd line. I honestly think the chemistry is mostly with Kreider and Mika, and those two can still produce even without Buch up there. Give Buch some skilled guys and not throw him on the 4th line like AV used to do and think we can get 2 scoring lines going.

Andersson was already sent to Hartford.

queue up all the righteous indignation
but this is a totally meaningless story,
the roster will be fluid, especially regarding the waiver-exempt young guys

Lias has only had a couple months of NA pro hockey, narrower rinks, he will be back, and a factor this season
no down-side to a month (or 3) as a #1, all-situations C w HWP

Pretty excited to see that second line for few reasons. If this season plays out like most believe it will that second line putting up points will be nice to see. Zucc and Spooner trade value going up and hopefully Chytil putting up some good offensive numbers simultaneously.

The third line could be fun used against the weaker D pairings, and both wingers are smart defensively to help Chytil. I don’t love the second line but if Spooner decides to be the shooter it could work. The 4th line might be fun too, decent amount of skill but defensively questionable.

Lots of long surnames on the team this year. So they have that going for them.

I can't help but be excited for this group of young players. Good youth on the big club, quality in Hartford, the Russian trifecta hopefully all coming over next year. Add a top 5 weapon from the upcoming draft and you're looking at a loaded organization. I, for one, am pumped for all this talent to develop this season.

Doesn't seem like this is even close though lol. Hopefully the lines we saw aren't the ones on opening night

I don't think we'll see it though.

It looks like they want to put Zuccarello with Hayes, which I don't understand. We are going to suppress Chytil's point totals by giving him Fast instead of Zuccarello. Fast isn't bad, but a rookie should not be the best offensive player on their own line.

This. Except DeAngelo in for McQuaid. Really like that “third” line. Prob plays more than the second and takes the tough defensive matchups.

This is good. Except shoot Claesson from a cannon and place McQuaid in that spot.

At forwards. Defense is at least a year behind.
