Not liking Smyth that much but:

Smyth - Hall - Hemsky
Perron - Arco - Eberle
Joensuu - Gordon - Yak
Hamilton - Acton - Jones
Brown, Mac

Ference - JSchultz
Smid - Petry
Larsen - Belov
NSchultz

I expect Belov to replace Smid if Smid continues to suck.

Eakins hasnt tried the lines\paring that we all expect to be in the starting lineup..

We have yet to see Joensuu and Yakupov on a line together yet almost all of us expect them to be part of the 3rd line with Gordon.

We have yet to see Belov-N.Schultz yet that seems to be the logical 3rd pairing.

If these are not together in our final preseason game ..there will be something unexpected happening behind the scene.

So you figure the best plan is to separate Perron/Eberle and Hall/Hemsky, the two pairs that have shown the best chemistry in camp. Makes sense.

There should almost be a Brown Vs Eager thread for who we think should be on that bottom line.... Or put them both on with an Smac center!

just north of...everything
Smyth - Hall - Hemsky
- They've been strong so far and offer a great mix. They can also handle the PVP matchups without getting killed.

Perron - Gordon - Yakupov
- I like the Gordon/Yakupov duo, and Perron seems like a threat every time he's on the ice. They will also be able to take on strong opposition, which they'll have to do as there are very few one-line teams in the NHL these days.

Joensuu - Arcobello - Eberle
- Hopefully some chemistry carries over between Arcobello and Eberle because I think Arcobello will need all the help he can get once he's asked to play against NHL lineups. If Eakins gets the matchups, this line should be able to do well with the easy draws.

Eager - Acton - Hamilton
- Grinder line with limited icetime. Acton can be utilized on the PK and the familiarity with Hamilton should come in handy at ES.

As for the defense, I have Belov on the team, and back at his usual RD spot. I thought he struggled last night when they had him on the left side (I still don't get why they had 5 RDs in the lineup at the same time):

Smid - Petry
- No reason to split them up, and no reason not to use them as a shutdown pairing.

Ference - J.Schultz
- Ference appears to be a better compliment to the young Schultz than Schultz Sr., and also the better defenseman at this stage.

N.Schultz - Belov
- Belov looked like the best of the bubble defensemen, and having a vetran like Schultz to help him along with 3rd pairing responsibilities could be a major boon for the Oilers. I could handle Larsen here, but I think Belov's been more effective and I like his size.

I've got to think that either Yak or Hemsky playing their off wing would be more valuable in the top 6 than Smyth playing first line minutes...but that's just me.

Imo it makes way more sense to have Smyth with Gordon and Joensuu as a shutdown third line that is reliable, but maybe the most common lineups here will offer more balance? In that case though, I feel for Yak.

these 2 have played together on the same line almost every game this preseason. I think the 4th line of Eager-Acton-Brown is pretty much set with MacIntyre playing a few games at Eager's expense.

Hamilton they'll keep around just in case.
D is pretty much set as well with Larsen being the #7 Dman

I agree with this and would be ok with it. Don't want Hamilton playing most games.

Alright, I'll agree that switching Joensuu and Perron could work, but having Hall and Yak together is something I'd really like to see. They played extraordinarily well together at the later parts of last season.
