Season is interrupted by Coronavirus at some point. League has to cancel games during late winter, resume either playoffs or continuation of season in May. Or alternately quickly revert to bubble only sites as it did for the playoffs. Unfortunately this is the most likely thing to occur.

i can't see making a lot of player specific predictions as this is the most unpredictable season ever. players will contract Coronavirus, need to isolate, clubs will have games cancelled. Without a bubble this is a hot mess. I mean with numbers in the US, in Ontario, Quebec, how can this even work?

But operating in many locations that do not experience winters the same way they have them here. I mean are we going to compare US winters to typically much worse Canadian winters?

Those leagues are also much more wealthy and can do anything possible, pay for anything possible to reduce contraction of the virus. In the US, as well you can pay for vaccination.

How many NFL and NBA players have already received their vaccination?

Just because a league may have an official line that they state regarding vaccinations doesn't mean that it hasn't been happening with players either covertly, on their own, or with help from specific member teams willing to do anything to win.

Its naïve to think that filthy rich athletes haven't already protected themselves and their families.

Football only plays one game a week typically. So that its not really a close comparable to hockey in that there are a lot less events.

Basketball has extremely small rosters in relation to hockey. Easier numbers to manage. Hockey is also played in refrigerated facilities that can help viral material survive longer periods of time, and increase transmission.

Mike Smith only starts 10 games this season. Oilers are hunting for a new goalie with the season hanging in the balance at game 20.

Unless Barrie gains traction soon, this could legitimately happen if Bouch gets a chance.

McDavid has never been top five in goals so it was no guarantee he’d challenge. Also #2 to #20 is apparently a “slight” regression now.

Ok this is odd, these weren’t super hot takes but still.

1. Barrie is currently in the top 10 in the league in points by D, and been over a PPG the last 6-7 games.

2. Bear started slow and is injured now, Bouchard could pass him with continued good play, Jones might not do that though.
3. Everyone is frantic about getting a new goalie, Smith has only played 1 game thus far, a few games away from 20, with the season very much in the balance.
