Iiiiit's coming up on the end of the decade, which means one thing - End of Decade Lists! Everyone loves lists!

Been seeing a bunch of these pop-up across the internet, thought it'd be fun to get input from the HF folk. It can be a list of however many you want: 50, 25, 10, 2 - whatever floats your boat. I did 25.

I don't consume too much new music anymore and tend to listen to stuff I've accumulated over the years.

A handful of albums off the top of my head:

Belle & Sebastian -- Write About Love
Teleman -- Breakfast
Alvvays -- self-titled
The Magnetic Fields -- 50 Song Memoir (prefer 90s to early 00s material, but can't not list band)
Sia -- 1000 Forms of Fear
Cigarettes After Sex -- self-titled
God Help the Girl -- self-titled
Ten Fe -- Future Perfect, Present Tense
Aurora -- All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend (prefer all online acoustic sessions over electronica album tracks)
Ramin Djawadi -- "Game of Thrones" series

I'll be keeping a close eye on this thread and hopefully adding to this list as I go, because the 2010s have been kind of a barren wasteland for me.

These were pretty much the only ones that I got anything out of, personally.

1. Syro by Aphex Twin - 4.0 (Flawless)
2. Ravedeath 1972 by Tim Hecker - 3.5 (Great)
3. Atrocity Exhibition by Danny Brown - 2.5 (Good)
4. A Moonshaped Pool by Radiohead - 2.5 (Good)
5. Virgins by Tim Hecker - 2.5 (Good)
6. The Magic Place by Julianna Barwick - 2.0 (Positive)
7. Cosmogramma by Flying Lotus - 2.0 (Positive)

---- On the fence about
8. Tomorrow's Harvest by Boards of Canada
9. Exmilitary by Death Grips
10. You're Dead! by Flying Lotus
11. MBV by My Bloody Valentine
12. The Money Store by Death Grips

Have you listened to Velocity: Design: Comfort recently (although it was released in '03)? I remember you not liking it. I've been listening to them a lot lately and they keep going up in my favorites. Just beautiful whatever approach they use. They're so versatile. The band's last album is a fantastic album (released in 2009). Here's some of the great songs. Thing to Ponder While Falling was released in 2013, though.

Oh whoops, I thought it was released in the 2010s for some reason. Yeah, I like it a bit more now, but still have minor reservations. I like the musicality a fair bit and can see that growing on me some more, but the twee dream-pop vocals still grate me when they're too front and center. I actually like most of the tracks on the album, but Dsco really gets on my nerves and sours the experience for me (works better when it just gets peppered in as part of the texture, IMO). Colored my first few impressions of the album a lot because it stands out more and I hear bits and pieces of what I don't like about it occasionally pop up in other tracks.

This one's just piqued my interest. Been listening to it and tentatively really liking what it's going for.

For some reason his style/voice doesn't annoy me at all, but I find Kendrick Lamar's style inherently hard to stomach.

Danny Brown's voice/cadence is just so unique for hip hop. There's the first shock of WTF is this when you first hear it, but it really does become its own unique instrument.

I think Kendrick's vocal effects become extremely grating after a while.

Yeah, I'm into it.

I have an irrational but seething hatred for that almost-sleezy-sounding, lilting vocal emphasis thing that Kendrick (and so many other modern rappers, like Kanye) does on the word at the end of every verse. Every time I hear something like that I'm just instinctively like "Man, **** this guy," for some reason.

The Devil put Dinosaurs Here. Alice in Chains (2013).

Lots of times these reunited and/or rekindled bands are lame money-grabs.. or depressing efforts to capture former glory. But this is a really good album, independent of the music they made 20 years earlier. Cantrell is still a really good songwriter.
