Now that the prospect polls have faded away I think its time to give our own rankings. Here's my top 15.

Tier 1: Players that have the ability to play top 6 minutes and are likely to reach that ability.
1. Alexander Nylander
2. Justin Bailey
3. Rasmus Asplund

Tier 2: Players with top 6 (top pairing) potential and skill but unlikely to play consistently at an NHL top 6 skill level. Should be able to at least contribute in the NHL as a role player.
4. William Carrier
5. Hudson Fasching
6. Victor Olofsson
7. Brendan Guhle

Tier 3: Potential to play in the NHL as a complimentary player. Could develop into solid depth players but won't carry a team against tough matchups.
8. Casey Nelson
9. Evan Rodrigues
10. Brandon Hagel
11.Jean Dupuy
12. Austin Osmanski
13. Eric Cornel
14.Cliff Pu
15.Giorgio Estephan

Disclaimer: I left out the goalie's because I have no idea and dont want to guess. There are also a few guys I left out because I haven't really seen them and, again, I don't want to guess or rank them based on what everyone else thinks.

If I remember later I'll make a google doc where we can all easily input out own rankings and have it aggregate the rankings for us that way

Pretty indifferent about the rest right now. Asplund and Nelson are new so I haven't fallen into realism land yet. Would really like to see 2 D get added to the top of the prospect ranks by this time next season.

After this I feel you can throw them into a bag. A few will probably emerge, but I don't have a strong opinion on who they will be. My guesses would be Pu, Dupuy, Fitzgerald, Cornel, but whatever...

It's easier to just do the polls.

But this is asking about our individual rankings. Doing a poll doesn't address this. It just addresses what the general population average thought on the rankings of prospects is. It also is tiresome to defend rankings. People getting into arguments about who is ahead of who for our personal opinion is annoying after the 5th time.

I think Tier system is the best thing to have.

Seems backward to me.

I don't see Florentino as a good enough skater, his transitions were noticeably poor even after these years to work on it. Borgen to me could be a middle-pair guy, good skater, low panic, good snarl, sometimes doesn't make the easy play but it usually isn't a wrong play. Reminds me a bit of how McCabe looked at that age in that regard. I don't know if Martin ever becomes anything more than JAG, but I have a small smaple size on viewing him.

I think Florentino and Martin have about the same ceiling, 3rd pairing defensive specialist with offensive limitations that hold him back from being anything more. Florentino is just more developed.
