I did it with a few friends awhile back, what's your prediction for your countries roster?

Canada
Forwards
Crosby
Stamkos
Nash
Giroux
Perry
Getzlaf
Toews
E. Staal
Seguin
Iginla (If retired, Sharp)
Bergeron
M. Richards

Thornton

Defense
Doughty
Keith
Letang
Weber
Staal
Pietrangelo

Seabrook

Goalies
Price
Fluery

Luongo

Picked some players because of their grit and physical play rather than their actual skill. I'm opposed to having 4 lines of pure skill and no physicality. Also factored in the international ice, so left out players like Lucic.

I don't really like Spezza but I gotta think you have to include him. Even if it's instead of Thornton.

I was thinking that, but I don't really see where he fits. I guess he could be the 13th forward instead of Thornton. If another player can step up and do just as well in the dot i'd switch Bergeron out for Tavares or Spezza.

On my keister
I'm an American, but I live here and root for Tre Kronor 90% of the time, so I'm qualified.

Sweden
Sedin
Sedin
Backstrom
Eriksson
Landeskog
Zetterberg
Franzen
Weinhandl
Johansson
Hornqvist
Silfverberg

Ekman-Larsson
Enstrom
Edler
Kronwall
Murray
Hjalmarsson
Hedman
Karlsson

Lundqvist
Lindback
Fasth

Well, crap. I can list 46 defensemen, but cannot complete the forward corps without either adding underachievers like Berglund or Tedenby or putting a lot of faith in young guys improving or coming out guns blazing (Paajarvi, Forsberg). Freudian, get in here.

I like your list. But the event is in two years and like you said we don't know how well the young players have developed by then. And by that I'd like to add a few question marks:

Nicklas Lidström and Daniel Alfredsson, will they have retired by then?

Gustav Nyqvist
Carl Hagelin
Victor Stålberg

Tim Erixon
Adam Larsson

We haven't been to the olympic hockeytournament since the year before I was born.

For me and Poland it's the year after my birth year :D

MSL should be there if his play doesn't drop a lot.

I don't think it's that far fetched to choose Duchene, really. He has to get off to a good start for sure. But all the Hockey Canada folks did was reiterate how they had to make changes for the big ice, add youth and speed and don't be shocked if some 2010 players didn't make it.
