So instead of complaining about it, which women were missed that are deserving to be on these lists? Dont tell me this is just a classic SJW post with no substance. No women play in the major sports leagues so it would make sense there are very few listed here

Bolded didn't play their pro careers in B.C. Which is what O.P. is looking for. And Cam Neely wasn't a star until he got to Boston.

Yes, he acknowledges that. If you're going to police everyones posts maybe read them first.

Well N.C. has had Nascar Drivers. Brind'Amour. I'm sure there are others. But simply listing off a bunch of dudes from the area isn't what the O.P. wanted. So all in all, yes I read the bolded.

Oh, Pukki has reached God status in Finland now?
He's a decent fella alright! Won the athlete of the year reward. Pukki Party is a big thing and he was kind of the face of our route to Euros. Nothing to take away from Hradecky or others but at the same time Pukki's success in England was something that we haven't witnessed since Hyypiä.

Kimi Räikkönen and Mika Häkkinen were a bit borderline because they are not born in Helsinki nor have represented a karting team from Helsinki but they both have residencies here and their home towns are basically neighbors of Helsinki.

I'd probably put Jacques Villeneuve in the mix as well (well, he DID win a WDC), Patrick Roy and Arturo Gatti as well. I know I'd put Gatti well ahead of Cavillo.

One could argue that Jackie Robinson could go first in the grand scheme of things, but it's also a bit tough to justify putting him first when he only played one AAA season.

I'd give HM to Randy Johnson and Pedro Martinez as well.

Still not a better athlete than any player that has played in the NHL.

This is too hard to do.

To me Bell, Flutie, Clark, Gilmour, Clemens (people wanted Pinball to run for mayor and he's American) are the most beloved athletes of my lifetime that come to mind.

Kawhi brought a Championship and left. He had almost no charisma. Thanks. Cya.

Carter and Mighty Mouse won nothing (but a rookie of the year) and ditched us. f*** them.

Many of us loved Mats but it was not the warm love we had for Dougie and Wendel.

Ben Johnson was loved for a few days :P

Elvis Stojko was a mega star for quite some time though he may not be from a sport we all appreciate, I say he wins the women's vote and makes the top 10.

The Subbans and Stewarts are both pretty popular. I think most of us like PK despite being tainted by that red uniform but that's a bit different than people who played for you.

I'm not a soccer guy (not our league any way) so I may have ignored some of them.

Roy Halliday also should get mention. Probably our best pitcher ever.

Despite not being a huge football fan, I’m aware of Pukki party and delighted about Finland making the Euros! Certainly a big deal, and perhaps there is indeed a case for Pukki behind only the great Jari Litmanen, all things considered.

Having myself put Jarmo Myllys ahead of competition who’s actually had solid NHL careers on my list, I have to approve of your reasoning :)

Randy Johnson? No basis. Went 3-4 and played less than 60 innings. Didier Drogba has a better case.
Pedro Martinez? Well, he probably ranks somewhere, but I'm not sure he was the most popular Expo whose last name is "Martinez", though a big part of this is determined by the date at which the team. But he did win a Cy Young, and it's generally acknowledged that his crazy 7-year peak started with the Expos.

I'd like to do it for Montreal, but it's a bit tough to do when the likes of Jacques Villeneuve and Henri Richard aren't cutting it.
