Seeing these polls made me want to post one. I don't care how you come up with it since we know that a lot of the players considered to be best ever among their positions or whatever were before most of our times. You can include a bench if you like.

This can be the best collection of talent, or even the team that you think would have the best chance of beating another all-time XI, etc.

Cruyff - van Basten - Messi
Ronaldinho
Rijkaard - Beckenbauer
Maldini - Moore - Baresi - Thuram
Yashin

Cruyyf - Pele
Ronaldo - Maradona - Platini - Messi
Beckenbauer
Maldini - Baresi - Lahm
Buffon

In place of Lahm I could also have Thuram or Zanetti.
Could also have Messi up front instead of Cruyyf and Garrincha RW.

Hmm I'm going off of players that mean the most to me, not necessarily the best ones. This may not shape up to be that great of a team, but hey who cares :p. Some people are going to be slightly out of position as well. Formation is a 4

Henry-Gyan
Giovinco
Isco - Ramsey
Viera
Davies - Koscielny- Campbell- Sagna
Seaman

Bench: Osorio, Ozil, Dunk, Altidore, Pires, Santi-Cazorla, Muntari, Ryan

Honorable Mentions: Dwayne De Rosario, Atiba Hutchinson, Torreira, Laca, Mavinga, Bergkamp

Then and there
Well, if this hypothetical team's players would all be at their best simultaneously and play with equally good results as in their best season, then I'd go with the guys who scored a lot from their positions or were statistically great.
So a very offensive team, who would score 405 goals in the league and concede only 16.

Dixie Dean would score 60 league goals
Messi 50 goals
C.Ronaldo 48

Pele 66
Ferenc Puskas 50
Alfredo di Stefano 32
Cruyff 33
Michel Platini 25

Lothar Matthaus 17
Daniel Passarella 24

Ray Clemence would only concede 16 goals in 42 league games

Coyotes Bandwagon
Buffon
Cafu - Beckenbauer - Puyol - Maldini
Vieira - Makelele
Zidane
Pele - Messi
Brasilian Ronaldo

Beckenbauer and Maldini for grace and skill, Puyol for just pure dogged toughness. Makelele to do the work and leave Zidane, Pele and Messi free to roam and create. That's probably too much wild creativity in one team but it'd be a nightmare to defend against.

Bench: Manuel Neuer
Roberto Carlos for extra attacking width and Lilian Thuram, who can play center or right
Lothar Matthaus to lock down midfield, Xavi to add even more skill
Johann Cruyff as a playmaker
Gerd Muller as a pure finisher

There are like 10 captains on this team but Beckenbauer would be the starting point of a lot so he'd probably get the armband.

I’d say that’s pretty close to a best XI. I mean Totti is probably the “worst” player in the team. Huge quotes around worst cuz obviously he’s a legend. I’d be comfortable putting that team out against just about anyone imo.
