The ones you enjoy listening to the most due to their voice and singing style.

My picks, in alphabetical order of last names, no ranking:

Adele Adkins
Sam Cooke
Ella Fitzgerald
Aretha Franklin
Buddy Holly
John Lennon
Paul McCartney
Jim Morrison
Paul Simon
Muddy Waters [admitted, that's a stage name]

Bonus: One noteworthy singer you don't enjoy listening to, even though he or she is a good vocalist. My pick: Steven Morrissey.

1. Brian Wilson ("Don't Worry Baby", as one example, features his brilliant falsetto work)

2. John Lennon

3. Paul McCartney

4. Linda Ronstadt

5. Cat Stevens

6. Stuart Murdoch (not a great voice, but it complements his music)

7. Traceyanne Campbell or Molly Rankin (similar style, although the latter hasn't amassed enough of a body of work to secure a ranking...maybe more a flavor of the month selection on my part)

8. Simon Le Bon (might have made many people's "worst singers" list during the 80s, but I liked him)

9. Jim Reeves (partially a 'tis the season reference...alongside Vince Guaraldi Trio, his is the essential Christmas album)

10. **Must be in the mood: either Michael Stipe or Shane Macgowan (when not in the mood, see "nails on a chalkboard")

HM: Nick Drake, Ron Sexsmith, David Francey, Morrissey

Here's one of my favourites of his, singing swing lead (back and forth) with Paul Foster in the Soul Stirrers before he went pop:

What most people don't know is that Cooke's predecessor in the group was an even better singer.
