Not sure if there has been any word on this yet... but there are always some interesting invites that come to this tournament for the Jets.

Any word on who got invited?

I see from this article that it's just Jets/Canucks this year.

NHL Young Stars return to Okanagan without Calgary or Edmonton - Surrey Now-Leader

Sept. 7 to 9, one day shorter than last year.

Canucks prospects expected to participate in the tournament include Adam Gaudette, Jonathan Dahlen, Olli Juolevi, Kole Lind, Lukas Jasek, Jonah Gadjovich, Zack MacEwen, Jalen Chatfield, Guillaume Brisebois and Michael DiPietro.

No word on Jets....

It would have been interesting to see the NHL prospects play the university teams. I'll bet the games would be closer than many might think. Look what happened when our high scoring pros went up against a 36 year old accountant in goal. :sarcasm:

To bad the Flames and Oilers pulled out. Is it going to be 4 games, 2 vs Nucks and 2 vs University teams, or just 2 games vs Nucks?

Crazy how close we are to the start of the season. What day does training camp kick off, week after the long weekend usually?

Looking at the schedule, cannot wait for the Leafs 2 times in 4 days, before leaving to Finland.

Jets play Canucks twice, UBC plays Alberta twice.

Would be great exposure for the CIAU as well. I've never understood why why don't have a better collegiate hockey system.

Collegiate sports just aren't as big here as they are in the states. The CHL took over for U20 players and most Canadians hope to be turning pro after that. The US college system is just better funded so it is always going to be the better option if you want to play hockey but also have a backup plan if it doesn't pan out.

They won't wear the third jerseys as they are not being revealed until the fan forum.

two interesting invites:

Hrabik was one of the oldest first year draft eligible prospects this year (born Sept 24th, cutoff is Sept 15th). 6'4, made the Czech U20 team, played in an adult league last season (second tier Czech league) and actually scored 15 points in 32 games. I haven't seen him play, but when I checked eliteprospects prior to the draft, I noticed him just because he was one of the very few guys who played and produced in an adult league. Will play for the Tri-City Americans next season, it will be his "19yo" season (his last non-overage year) in the WHL. As an "18yo European player" as per the CBA, he is not eligible to sign an NHL contract at this point (unlike NA players who went undrafted this year), so he will 100% enter the 2019 draft. Clearly, the Jets are starting to scout for next year's draft ;)

D'Aoust: interesting for the Moose. He doesn't seem to be your regular (random undrafted CHL player) invite, as in he's 22 years old, has a pro season under his belt, and scored 21 points in the AHL last season. Won't be surprised if he'll be at the Moose camp, and won't be surprised to see him sign an AHL contract to add more depth. He's a RW, too. The Moose are not very deep at RW.

Joey Ratelle is a spunky little agitator who can hold his own and put up points. He’ll fit right in with Lipon and Lemieux

By all accounts, looks like a pretty weak roster. Will be nice to see K-Ves in action, though.
