Sorry to make a separate thread, but I tried to go through our threads for Yandle speculation and it's mostly people still talking about letting Vrbata go. Since he could potentially be THE piece of the deadline, I wanted to have a place where we could keep up on him separate from Michalek, Erat, Gagner etc.

I think this is the realest a potential Yandle trade has ever been. Real enough that Lebrun, McKenzie, Friedman, Garrioch, Strickland and other big name sources are talking about it. On top of that, apparently someone asked Maloney yesterday if he planned on trading Yandle, and GMDM completely avoided the question.

Tomorrow could be a very bittersweet day for us.

    I say:

    1 - not traded tomorrow

2 - Either traded at the draft or re-signed in the summer.

I don't think Yandle will be available at the trade deadline next year.

LeBrun was pushing the Yandle trade question.

I don't know. I've been saying to trade yandle for two seasons if we really wanted a top-line forward.

This season, I've changed my tune a bit. I think we should probably hold onto him. But another part of me feels his errors are just too costly. Yes, he gets a lot of assists, but he makes so many stupid plays and he is so weak along the boards and in front of the net.

I'd be fine keeping him. But we need to get a very dependable guy to pair with him.

I only want him moved for an elite forward.

Yup, I'll try to get the tweet where Craig Morgan thanked him for pushing the question. I'm on my mobile at the moment

I said no. If we trade him right now I want nothing less than a top 3 F coming back. I feel he's earned that value and there's nothing saying we have to give him up right now.

Another thing is, if we land McDavid in the draft, I'd imagine Yandle would happily resign, and both him and OEL would love to pad their stats with the next great one.

If we don't get McDavid, and Yandle cannot give a guaranteed "Yes I will resign with you," then he can go to the highest bidder this summer.

If we can get a great return now.. fine. But I'd still rather see how the draft plays out. If he's not going to resign with us then I don't want to start next season with him on the roster. We'll get a lot more this summer than we would at next years deadline imo.

If the offers are there, yes. If you think he's untouchable you haven't been paying attention.

I'd be a lot more interested if it was LeBron tweeting about Yandle.

1 most likely: re-sign Yandle forever
    2 trade this summer
    3 trade on Monday

Can you imagine how tank-tastic this team is if you rip out its most offensive piece?

I think he gets traded tomorrow. His highest value is now when a buyer can have him for two playoffs. We need to move him as we need what he can return more than what he brings and paying him his merited salary are funds we can use in other more needful areas.

Right now, best guess is Girardi, Duclair, 2016 1st.

Only word so far is Dan Girardi. Yandle is more valuable then him, waiting on additional details.
